No doubt Rafale electronic suite is far advanced but also SAM's like the S-300 is potent.

Pakistan is a poor country it can't match the power purchase of India so they need another solution to detend it.

Very true . IAF is set to match PLAAF in their own number game . As nearly 1000 + are very old fighter jets like J6/7 etc . On J10 front it's an old airframe too . It has its own limits . J11 as you know is a ripoff . Their Su 27/30MKK are very inferior to IAF Su30MKI . J31 is a joke . I could be very much interested in J20 as it resembles Mig 1.35 of dropped Russian stealth fighter of mig . And shares lots of similarities to F22 . But stealth and performance is just more the resemblances of F22 or PakFa . On other hand Future plan for IAF is very impressive . Mix of Western Avionics and Russian Power . In future PLAAF will have to replace more than 60-70% of its fleets . So IAF will match or even overtake Chinese in numbers . In not so distant future.

We are arguing on three points...

1) J10B is not even inducted properly in PLAAF ..... let aside PAF
2) People here are claiming F-16 will counter Rafale and J10 will be game changer.... when in reality all air forces are phasing out the former while the latter will see action (that too is uncertain) with PAF not before 2022-23

And you think PAF is sleeping. your MKI may not find runways intact for landing when they go back from mission in war i.e. is what PAF can do with out going inside enemies area.

And you will think IAF with almost 10 times large force will Miss that out maybe you are to much over estimated power of PAF in your national pride probably there will be no air force left in first wave of combine attack itself.

Remember whatever PAF can do IAF can do it better not because of some false bravado that Some one claim. but on practical terms of being superior in both quantity and operational resources in war.

Didn't you hear the news? The biggest issue with Dassault signing the ToT contract is that they do not want guarantee what comes out of HAL????

Yeah and they opted for Reliance . Does reliance have capabilities to produce Rafale ? But when HAL already manufacturer Advanced MKI why can't they produce Rafale ? With ToT ?

And dint you hear about Deal is going smoothly and HAL contract is intact for 108 jets ? Our Navy itself is looking for some 40 Rafale M to operate from INS Vishal

UK defence chiefs have pretty much admitted that if Argentina was to get the J-10B, then this aircraft would be comparable to Euro-fighter and would make the Falklands indefensible.

My freind Chinese now one of the biggest R&D in the planet we are not talking about China in the ninties.

One of our customer bought a laboratory equipment from chinese made which is a copy cat of standard branded equipment, later found to be a junk which works only 2 years on a junk software.This is the standard of chinese product.

Basically PAF don't want to use its funds for purchasing J-10s because if they have proper funds then block-3 will be more potent then J-10s in many terms because western AESA, Chinese EODAS with other avionics can end up in JF-17 also PAF can go for some redesign of JF-17 to be stealthy with more composites which will make it very potent for any foe.

UK defence chiefs have pretty much admitted that if Argentina was to get the J-10B, then this aircraft would be comparable to Euro-fighter and would make the Falklands indefensible.

USA generals have claimed IAF flankers to be better maneuverable and Thrust vectoring to be a game changer during 2008 Red Flag exercises..... and so has Indian generals that India can't fight with current planes so fast track the defense procurements...

Did I say anything about J10B . Bit I don't agree with their claim that it's better than all fighters including F22 Su35 MKI EF Rafale . How much will Pakistan can buy even with soft loans ?

IAF is not 10 times larger, also its not possible for IAF to bring 80% of its fleet to its western border.

I think for the long term, Pakistan is better off procuring JF17s (and at the same time working on its Blk 3) while look to induct Chinese 5th gen. fighter if money permits by 2025-30....

Truth be told, Pak cannot keep up with IAF today.... neither in numerically nor technologically....

OTOH.... India has China too for its part..... and we are need to modernize accordingly

LOL - This is not a game.

The defence chiefs have nothing to gain from this statement. UK is not going to place many more fighters for the Falklands as it cannot afford to. They are simply saying in their opinion that the Eurofighter is not that qualitatively superior that the few aircraft that the UK could place in those Islands could stop J-10Bs from gaining air-superiority.
