Option's for PAF ?

Indian airforce is formidable...but also look at the bigger picture...
From 1950 to 1990 (and may be even today) russia had 70 armored devisiins facing europe ...it was estimated they will take 3 days to capture western europe...but push never came...

All that talk of rafael and mki running amock on pk soil has one little loop hole

In the short run, there is not going to be any war because of induction of 2 squadrons.
they have inducted similar or greater number of SU30's but did not start a war.

induction of two squadrons will take 4 years to complete plus another 2/3 years to master it including devising strategies for the platform.

IAF in its current configuration already poses a challenge to PAF, which is going to get worse with the induction of these jets. induction of 144 spanking new jests is definitely going to give IAF big technological advantage, but by the time all these are inducted (about 8 to 10 years), a whole bunch of their inventory (225+ Mig21, 150Jgs, 85 Mig27, and early tranches of SU30's) will start falling from the sky.

In the same time frame (10 year) we will also induct 10 squadrons of thunders, in addition I think we will need at least 3/4 squadrons of new potent platforms.

Keeping that in mid, I think india will have an edge technology wise, but number wise our parity would not change much. A lot depends on our new platform choice and numbers. I think our best bet would be acquisition of Chinese stealth, by the time they are ready for induction in PAF, tech wise they would be better than what india would have in their 4th gen fighters. As a stop gap, PAF might acquire 30-40 used F-16.

Another point, with the astronomical cost of modern jets, I don't think india would be able to increase and maintain a bigger fleet. Its easy to run and maintain 34 squadrons when 50% of them comprise of mig21's not when all comprise of SU30, Rafael and Mirage 2000.

Ok Guys , as today we heard the news of IAF getting 36 Rafale ( Fly Away ) condition , that is probably 2 sqs ..
this must have ring some bells in our PAF Official , cause we currently have no Fighter that can counter Rafale , for our block 52's there might be a chance only if we have in numbers ...
so basically in terms of Indo-Pak war , these 2 Rafale sqs will work as 4 sqs ,

so what i want to discuss that what option PAF have and what they might be thinking ?

we are already behind IAF in numbers and now in technology as well ..
Indians will keep saying that these Rafale's is for China , but obviously we must come up with something to counter this new threat in South Asia ..

some of the Option Pakistan may consider are ..

36 F-16's Block 52's from US ..
or
36 J-10B's from China
or
36 Typhoon ? very less chances
or
Nothing ... just invest in some long Range SAM's ..

J-10B is in serial production

14 J-10Bs have been photographed at an airfield in China.

Not even one squadron.... and BTW none of them are officially inducted......

OTOH.... around 200 RAFALE have been produced and have taken part in actual combat

According to Indians Spectra can make Rafale disappear from radar completely:lol:

On TV in a documentary US military showed how they will handle super duper Spectra system, they have tuned their teen series jet to take out any thing which EU and rest of the world can through at them now.

No doubt Rafale electronic suite is far advanced but also SAM's like the S-300 is potent.

Pakistan is a poor country it can't match the power purchase of India so they need another solution to detend it.

Solution is simple.

Make war impossible with a large nuclear stockpile, a long range land based missile system, and a second strike capability from sea or air.

Thus making the result of war a total catastrophe and nothing short of it.

Dint you heard the news ? Mr Manohar P is up in arms to make HAL one of the best I the world . Lots of plans are going into it . With sufficient support from government and ToT of Rafale , FGFA HAL will be different entity all together
Didn't you hear the news? The biggest issue with Dassault signing the ToT contract is that they do not want guarantee what comes out of HAL????

.
None. We have enough procurement going on already to deter adventurism by anyone. Focus on economy for the next 3-5 years and then go for J-31.

NO sorry China Can't compete with Western or even with Russian in current time maybe in 2 decade

The main lack For Chinese is their lack of interest in Innovation. Reverse engineering will get you pace but in the End it's innovative ideas that make difference that's what make Western's different from all other world.
My freind Chinese now one of the biggest R&D in the planet we are not talking about China in the ninties.

LOL - so Rafale beat F-16 Block 52 only 6-2!

F-16 block 52 is equivalent to J-10A and J-10B is a superior fighter

So you now 6-2 is LOL for you..... when just a while back you said they are comparable

BTW Pakistan has F-16 block 52..... and eventually it will be 144 Rafales vs 85 odd F-16....

Even if this ratio holds fast see what that means....

Yes - great to see them in action against air-forces like Afghanistan, Libya and Mali:rofl:
