What's new

Option's for PAF ?

That 144 (if that is the final number0 is going to take 8 to 10 years. In that timeframe PAF would have inducted 200 Thunders and maybe another 30-40 used F-16's.

PAF's next tier 1 platform purchase is also due, there was a reason why PAF did not go with J10's, now that indian MMCA cat is out of bag, PAF planners can go to the drawing board and start working on their needs.

It's a cycle that keeps repeating itself, we spend astronomical amounts on acquiring armaments that we will never use and the west makes money and uses it on the welfare of their citizens.

So you now 6-2 is LOL for you..... when just a while back you said they are comparable

BTW Pakistan has F-16 block 52..... and eventually it will be 144 Rafales vs 85 odd F-16....

Even if this ratio holds fast see what that means....

Did I say anything about J10B . Bit I don't agree with their claim that it's better than all fighters including F22 Su35 MKI EF Rafale . How much will Pakistan can buy even with soft loans ?

100? Even then by that time IAF might be very advanced with new stealth jets

Who claimed J-10B is better then 5th gen jet?? but with EODAS, AESA radar and other advance stuff, it can handle any non 5th gen jet.

Yeah and they opted for Reliance . Does reliance have capabilities to produce Rafale ? But when HAL already manufacturer Advanced MKI why can't they produce Rafale ? With ToT ?

And dint you hear about Deal is going smoothly and HAL contract is intact for 108 jets ? Our Navy itself is looking for some 40 Rafale M to operate from INS Vishal
Like I said HAL is PAF's best friend :yahoo:

IAF is not 10 times larger, also its not possible for IAF to bring 80% of its fleet to its western border.

Actually the numerical gap is increasing day by day....

By 2025, IAF will have 144 Rafale, 300 MKIs, 50-60 FGFA, 50-60 LCA mk2 (not even counting LCA 1 and AMCA) = around 550 modern potent fighters

PAF will have around 80 F-16s, 100 JF 17 (Blk 2 and 3) = around 180...

even if you add 50-60 J10B (not even ordered so actually cannot be counted) it comes to around 230

I think for the long term, Pakistan is better off procuring JF17s (and at the same time working on its Blk 3) while look to induct Chinese 5th gen. fighter if money permits by 2025-30....

Truth be told, Pak cannot keep up with IAF today.... neither in numerically nor technologically....

OTOH.... India has China too for its part..... and we are need to modernize accordingly

Basically its no Pakistan's policy to match ball to ball with India in any way, its just keep minimum deterrence in all defense fields. keeping little / negligible gap in terms of tech with India is priority not numbers.

That what you think, but PAF is maintaining a certain level of gap (due to several reasons) from which they don't let it increase.

But what happened to 300 MKIs? Even if your post comes true, India still has 3:1 advantage

I don't deny that, more so considering that we need to safeguard our borders with China too.....

Best option for PAF is not to have a war with IAF ever.

In terms of air battle, PAF will never match IAF no matter what plane they get.

In terms of defensive capabilities, its better for PAF to be realistic then dreamy. Investing in SAMs is the only and the most realistic option left for PAF.

IAF is equipped/preparing to defeat PLAAF or other big threats.

LOL - This is not a game.

The defence chiefs have nothing to gain from this statement. UK is not going to place many more fighters for the Falklands as it cannot afford to. They are simply saying in their opinion that the Eurofighter is not that qualitatively superior that the few aircraft that the UK could place in those Islands could stop J-10Bs from gaining air-superiority.

You know nothing about modern fighters then.... Eurofighter not superior to J10B (that is still not yet offically inducted) :woot::rofl:

Its like saying India has the best Air Force after USA/ Russia as we have FGFA (never mind that only 3-4 prototypes are there)

and you think PAF is not purchasing SAMs?? they already had many systems which can make MKIs and Rafale run for their money.

I am not discounting SAM systems they sure are potent ones but when it comes to defending the skies it will always be from the skies, Fighter planes has much longer tech. pedigree than SAM systems and its well known advance countries invest much more in developing a fighter plane than a SAM network that is for a reason, SAMs are much more vulnerable than a advance fighter plane.
And now stealth fighters and bombers even stealth armed drones has made even the most advance SAM systems useless.

And within a decade no matter how much pakistan invests in SAM systems when India inducts stealth planes all the money will go in drain.
And remember pakistan has no strategic depth all strategic targets are located very much inside Brahmos range that too airborne now under MKI's belly. So only option I see for pakistan is to wait for a decade at least for matured chinese stealth planes to have any counter for IAF even inside its territory.
IDF was the 1st to be shocked by the use of SAM by Syria. But later on they did use Drones to fool the Syrian's.
Today these tactics have been shown and they have devised counter strategies.

I read some where that Dehli would have Iron Dome like system, if this true then Dehli would have to be protected by SAM that can take out any target from the sky.
So a question arises why is GOI doing this when they know that stealth aircraft would not be detected?

Going on USRAEL has been working on a defence shield for a long time and the recent War with Hammas showed them the weakness. The USA is deploying Iron Dome defences all around the world so it must have some advantage. May be at present it is not even 20% but may be in a few more years this 20%system can be more than enough without any changes but by using a better tactic.

@500 can you shed some more info on the old IDF tactics and the use of missile shields.

Another wild guess . But makes sense .

Remember our IN want to have 40+ Rafale M for INS Vishal :D . After all 64+ numbers might be true .

Another wild guess by someone.
@livefist Plus final sqn of 18.
New total cd be 2x36 fly-away (72)+108 Made In India+final 18=198
MMRCA was 18+108+63=189
