Indeed, Mirza Ghulam's death was a sign of Allah(SWT)'s displeasure with him. He died from the disease he feared the most in a wretched condition and in utter disgrace, as he himself had stated:
"To turn out a liar in his own prophecy is biggest disgrace of disgraces."

Let's review the record of Mirza's death as recounted by his closest followers and actual witnesses to his death.
Bashir Ahmad, the son of Mirza Ghulam, wrote in his biography:
"My mother informed me that 'the first attack of looseness of bowels upon the Promised Messiah occurred when he was at his dining room table. Later, I started pressing his legs and he lay in comfort and slept and soon I too slept. After a short while, he again felt the call of nature and he used the bathroom a couple of times without awakening me, After this he felt very weak; he shook me up and laid down on my bed. I recommenced pressing. In a few minutes he told me to go to bed but I refused and continued to press. Once again he had an urge and, being too weak to go to the lavatory, I made arrangement for him close to the bed. He sat down and relieved himself. Next, he laid himself back on my bed and I started pressing again. His weakness grew intense; he had another motion, accompanied this time by vomiting. This paralyzed him so much that when trying to lay back on the bed, he fell on his back and hit his head on the bed post. His condition alarmed me...'."

Mirza Ghulam's father in law, Mir Nasir Nawab, recorded in his autobiography:
"The night his holiness fell ill, I was sleeping in my room. When his illness grew severe, they woke me up. I went over to his holiness and found him in great pain. He addressed me saying:
'I have been stricken with cholera.' After this, he did not utter a single intelligible and coherent word till he died on Monday, after ten O'clock in the morning."

Mirza Ghulam used to say that cholera or plague is the sign of Allah(SWT)'s wrath on mankind for their wrong doing! It is fitting that his last words were the admission that he had been stricken with the disease he was so fearful of. The witnesses present at his bed side recorded:
"Huzoor (Mirza Ghulam) could not talk two hours before death. Dr. Mirza Yaqoob Baig and Dr. Syed Mohammad Hussei Shah were the attending physicians. Huzoor asked for paper and wrote on it: 'I have too much dryness. I can't talk.' and some other words which could not be read."

"As his condition became precarious, we stayed by him and continued treatment, but his pulse stopped by 10:15 A.M., on the 26th May, 1908 he breathed his last."

We can not imagine what Mirza Ghulam might have felt when the hour of death approached and Allah(SWT) shut his mouth and tongue so that he could neither repent (proclaim Kalima) nor utter any more lies.
And who can be more unjust than he who invents a lie against Allah, or says: "I have received inspiration," whereas he is not inspired in anything; and who says, "I will reveal the like of what Allah has revealed." And if you could but see when the wrong-doers are in the agonies of death, while the angels are stretching forth their hands (saying): "Deliver your soul! This day you shall be recompensed with the torment of degradation because of what you used to utter against Allah other than the truth. And you used to reject His signs (revelations) with disrespect!"

Mirza Ghulam's death irrefutably proves that the prophecies he attributed to Allah(SWT) were fabricated by him and his associates. The irony is that, to impress his followers, he had proclaimed his prophecies to be the ultimate sign of his truthfulness and stated:
"If what I have said does not happen exactly, I am prepared for every punishment. My face should be blackened and I should be hanged.
I swear by the Mighty Allah that what I have said will happen. It must happen. It is possible that the earth may be changed for another earth and the sky may be replaced by another sky, but it is not possible for God's word to change --
prepare for me a cross if my falsehood is exposed and curse me more than the Satans and the evil persons are cursed."

Did Ahmad(As) God Forbid die of Cholera?
Now the next baseless allegation non Ahmadi’s bring forth is that Ahmad(as) God Forbid died of cholera which he had said was an accursed death. Firstly he did not die of cholera, rather of old age and weakness. He did not die of cholera at all and this is another lie of the anti Ahmadi Mullahs. He passed away of old age and weakness. Firstly during May in 1908, cholera was not even spread in Lahore so it is not possible for Ahmad(as) to be affected by cholera in any way possible. Since cholera was not spread in Lahore, it is not possible that Ahmad(as) had it either. During May and June in 1908 there was no cholera spread anywhere where Ahmad(as) was. This disease itself would only spread in July or August. In 1908 cholera did not spread anywhere in entire India, not even in July or August. This itself exposes the lies of the non Ahmadi Muslims.
This allegation is brought up by the Sunni Muslims and they quote a book called Hayat-i-Nasir and claim its by his father in law and that he said Ahmad(As) nauzobila died of cholera. Firstly one has to understand that Life of Nasir or Hayat-i-Nasir is not even written by the father in law of Promised Messiah(as) and neither is it his autobiography. It is a biography compiled by Hazrat Yaqoob Ali Irfaani(ra). It was written three years after the death of the father in law of the Messiah(as) and 20 years after the death of the Messiah(As). Its not authentic nor can be verified but still is not correctly quoted by the anti Ahmadiyya. The exact quote is : “The night Hadhrat Sahib (Ahmad(as))) fell ill, I had gone in my room to sleep. As soon as his illness grew severe, I was woken up. When I went to Hadhrat Sahib and saw his condition, he addressed me saying “I am suffering from cholera/Am I suffering from cholera”. He did not say anything clear after that I
THINK until he passed away around 10am next morning.”
The sunnis completely change this quote and remove the think from the statement also.The father in law of the Promised Messiah(as) Hazrat Mir Nasir Nawab sahib was taking care of Promised Messiah(as) during his illness and Promised Messiah(as) addressed him in a common speech using “kia”. The word “kia” itself is not used in this passage, however in Urdu this is normal. Without the word being there, the phrase still becomes a question when one focuses on it. Ahmad(As) clearly states “
“I am suffering from cholera/Am I suffering from cholera” which shows that it was stated in a form of a question even without the word kia present. This being said, we cannot even guarantee whether this statement is completely authentic or not.
Promised messiah(as) made an
inquiry rather then a statement. This inquiry was answered by the doctors of Ahmad(As) who were treating him. Now it is your choice if you want to believe random mullahs who made up lies with no proof and were not even present at the death bed of Ahmad(As) or the doctors who treated him. One has to remember these statements of the doctors are not bias at all. They of course knew that this person had claimed to be the latter day messiah also.
Now when we look at the ahadith we see that it is narrated in Bukhari:
وَقَالَ يُونُسُ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، قَالَ عُرْوَةُ قَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ ـ رضى الله عنها ـ كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقُولُ فِي مَرَضِهِ الَّذِي مَاتَ فِيهِ “ يَا عَائِشَةُ مَا أَزَالُ أَجِدُ أَلَمَ الطَّعَامِ الَّذِي أَكَلْتُ بِخَيْبَرَ، فَهَذَا أَوَانُ وَجَدْتُ انْقِطَاعَ أَبْهَرِي مِنْ ذَلِكَ السَّمِّ ”.
Narrated `Aisha:
The Prophet (ﷺ) in his ailment in which he died, used to say, “O `Aisha! I still feel the pain caused by the food I ate at Khaibar, and at this time, I feel as if my aorta is being cut from that poison.”(Sahih Bukhari #4428)
The Holy Prophet(saw) used to say that he felt the poison which was given to him by the Jews. This was during his death bed but he did not die of poisoning and all Muslims know he did not. Even if a prophet thinks he may have died in one way, it is not necessarily true. The Holy Prophet(saw) did not die of poison, but according to the non Ahmadi logic they are forced to hold this belief as the Prophet(saw) mentioned the poisoning at his deathbed. Although this narration is different, it simply shows that even if a prophet has said such words in regards to his death whether it be about poison or cholera, it does not mean they passed away because of it. Furthermore, the true meaning of what Ahmad(as) has stated is clear.
Doctor’s statements :
Major Dr. Sutherland; Principal Medical College Lahore, was Promised Messiah’s physician in his last days. He issued a certificate confirming that his death
was NOT caused by cholera rather it was due to the weakness caused by diarrhea. All the physicians around him were in complete agreement with Dr. Sutherland’s diagnosis. Dr. Cunningham; Civil Surgeon Lahore, thus signed that certificate of Dr. Sutherland to testify the authenticity of his diagnosis.
When Promised Messiah(As) passed away enemies ran to the train station to say he died of cholera God Forbid and in those days a cholera body was not allowed to migrate to another place. The body would have to stay in its area. The train manager did not let his body transfer until Hazrat Shaikh Rahmatullah(ra) came showing the surgeon’s certificate to the manager who then allowed the travel of the body.This was a huge defeat against the liars who tried to stop Ahmad(As)’s body from travelling.
Last words of Messiah(as)
Allah meray pyaray Allah
Translation: Allah, my beloved Allah.
When it was time of Fajr prayer Promised Messiah(as)said in a weak voice:
Kia Namaaz kaa waqt ho gaya hay?
Translation: Has the time of prayer come?
In reply to this one person replied that yes it is prayers time. Then hazur performed tayyammum to pray. He went unconscious and asked again and performed tayyamum again on his bed and kept worrying about prayer.
When he retained consciousness:
Allah meray pyaray Allah
Translation: Allah my beloved Allah
The non Ahmadi Muslims should stop raising this allegation as it has no basis at all. There have been many religious people who have died with stomach ailment. There is nothing wrong with this. In fact one of the greatest muhaddith, who was also the mujadid of the eighth century according to many passed away with excessive diarrhea. It is stated in a biography about his death:
Now will the non Ahmadi Muslims mock Ibn Hajar Asqalani (ra) as well? Of course they will not. In reality they have no allegation against Ahmad(as) which is why they need to lie and bring up such statements. This passage is from the famous book named “Final Moments of The Pious” by Shaykh Al Hadith Mawlana Yusuf Motala. The same book also states in regards to Shaikh Abu Ishaq Ibrahim Bin Ahmad Sufi, that he also got diarrhea in his final stage.
Apart from this it is also stated about Imam Ahmad Ibn Hanbal in Manaqib Imam Ahmad Bin Hanbal by Ibn Al-Jawzi:
It states that “I placed a bowl under him (Imam Ahmad) and saw that his urine was pure blood and no urine at all. So I told the doctor and he said : This man has broken sadness and sorrow (Manaqib Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal by Ibn Al Jawzi, Page 393)
Lastly one who dies of cholera, his body cannot travel. His clothes are not even kept but look today because thousands worldwide today have and strive to obtain a piece of cloth from the coat of Ahmad(as).
