Breaking News : Firing at LOC

Here is the real news

Army jawan killed, 2 injured in militant attack in Jammu
JAMMU: An army jawan was killed and two of his colleagues were injured when militants triggered an IED explosion targeting a patrol team along the LoC in Akhnoor area of Jammu district, a senior army officlal said on Monday..

One jawan was killed and two others suffered injuries when a patrol party was targeted by terrorists with an Improvised Explosive Device along Jogwan forward belt in Akhnoor border area of Jammu district yesterday, the army official said.

The deceased has been identified as Sepoy Bhikale. The injured jawans — head constable Vinod Kumar and Lance Naik Amol Kumar — have been admitted to the military hospital, Northern Command for treatment.

The militants had planted an IED near a track and triggered the blast to target the troops, the official said, adding that the matter is being investigated.

Pakistani troops later resorted to brief firing on the forward border belt in Nathu Tibba area, triggering panic among the villagers. The firing came to end last night, police officials said.

An attempt by three Pakistani militants to sneak into Indian territory was yesterday foiled by the army, which also defused an IEDs planted by the infiltrators near a forward post in Bhimbher Gali belt of Rajouri district.

Troops guarding the borderline fired on the infiltrating terrorists and they fled to Pakistan occupied Kashmir (Azad Kashmir), a defence spokesman said.

This was the third infiltration bid by Pakistan militants along LoC. On May 10, two militants were killed when Army troops foiled an infiltration bid along Line of Control (LoC) in Kalsia belt of Poonch district.

One jawan had suffered injuries in the firing. On May 3, troops foiled an infiltration bid along LoC in Sawjian belt of Poonch district.

Army officials said the ceasefire violations and firing by Pakistani troops were aimed at helping militants infiltrate into Jammu and Kashmir from the "launching pads" along LoC, where they are waiting to crossover.

There are also inputs that bids to engineer attacks by Pakistan's Border Action Team (BAT) on Indian forward posts and patrolling parties are being planned from across the border, they said.

Choose one :

1. Pakistan's army reply to overtures of nawaz Sharif towards Modi.

2. Pakistan's army testing the will power of Modi government to back a retaliation.

3. Sign of following policy of increasing terrorist infiltration across the border and mutual hostility to remain as permanent feature.

4. All of the above

What were they doing on our side of the Border? How and why the landmine went bang? Don't tell us Indians just lay their landmines randomly where their soldiers patrol the fence.

Yeah cause Pakistani soldiers don't have binoculars to see that the Indian soldiers were just trying to retrieve an injured colleague!

Landmine/IED only injured the two soldiers on Indian side of the border, it was cross border firing from Pakistan which killed the soldier who had gone to rescue them . Since you claim to be sovereign country any firing from your troops/militants coming from with in your border is your responsibility.

There's no mention of any one killed due to Pakistani firing, rather it seems one Indian soldier was killed and two injured due to the IED.

Army Jawan Killed in First Ceasefire Violation After Election | NDTV.com

An army jawan was killed and two others injured on Sunday in the first major incident of firing by Pakistani troops at the border after the Narendra Modi-led BJP won the general election.

The army said the incident took place at around 10 am, when a team of the Maratha Light Infantry had gone to rescue a soldier, Vinod Kumar, who was injured while planting landmines on the Indian side at the Pallanwalla sector near the Line of Control.

Pakistani troops opened fire on the patrol team and wounded three soldiers. One of them later died.

While ground reports indicated that the team had come under Pakistani fire, the official Defence Ministry press statement has blamed infiltrators.

Pakistani military sources have denied firing at Indian soldiers.

There have been several infiltration bids this month by Pakistani militants along the Line of Control. On May 10, two militants were killed in the Poonch sector, where infiltrators had tried to enter earlier on May 3.

In 2013, 12 jawans were killed and 41 injured in the highest number of ceasefire violations - 149 - and firing by Pakistan troops along the India-Pakistan border.

Pakistan's Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has expressed hope for good ties with the new BJP-led government to be helmed by Mr Modi.

Mr Sharif has reportedly cited his working relationship with Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the last prime minister to lead a BJP government, as a reason for his optimism.

So now it's telling us that the soldiers were injured by their own landmines, and they are not even sure who fired at the party.

Yes...there are conflicting report ministry's official sources and on the ground reports. But one thing is certain the firing which killed the soldier and injured the third did come from Pakistan/Pakistani infiltrators/troops.

Well could it be that when the Indian soldiers triggered off their mine accidentally, the blast would have alerted the Pakistani soldiers who may have mistaken it for Indian firing thus they retaliated.

Could very well be.

@ Indian members is ur new elected leader talking about waging a war?

Rhetoric before the elections is often very different from actions thereafter..that is a universal truth.
