Keep Bangladeshis out of Census: VHP
New Delhi. Feb 4, 2011.
Vishwa Hindu Parishad(VHP) on Friday demanded that Bangladeshis should be kept away from the census of our country. Inclusion of their names in the national population register (NPR) would have serious implications, the organisation said. Delhi State General secretary of
VHP shri Satyendra Mohan also raised questions about inclusion of Cast but exclusion of Nationality columns in the worlds largest census in this month.
Detailing about the state level meet of VHP in its State head office, Jhandewalan in Delhi, its Co-Media Incharge shri Manish Rai said that expressing concern over growing Bangladeshis in India (particularly in the national capital of Delhi) we have passed a resolution demanding
immediate action against the infiltrators and warned the government that inclusion of their names in the national population register may have serious impacts. As according to a recent statement by the census commissioner the current census would not have nationality column, the NPR may list more then two crore infiltrators as nationals of India.
And moreover, after the NPR is built, the infiltrators will get identity cards with Unique Identification Number (UID), like genuine citizens of the country. It must be stopped, the resolution added.
According to a study, the infiltration has hugely distorted the demography of many areas in Assam, West Bengal, Bihar, Mizoram, Nagaland, Manipur, and even in far off Mumbai and Delhi.
" In less than two decades, the two crore+ illegal Bangladeshis in India are almost equal the population of Australia or Sri Lanka. The individual population of 167 countries is less than the number of Bangladeshis in India! The Bangladeshi population in India is more than the total population of some 100 countries taken together! With globally linked Islamic terrorism having roots in Bangladesh on the rise, it needs no seer to say that it is a grave national danger to our country", shri Rai added.
The meeting was attended by the state Gen Secretary Satyendra Mohan,Organising secretary Karuna Prakash, vice president Mahaveer Prasad and advocate Ram Chandra Verma, Secretary Ashok Kumar, & Bajrang Dal Convenor advocate Sailendra Jaishwal. PR
