There's a lot of discussions on the Chinese internet about whether China should only send young athletes to the Asian Games instead of sending established players. The point is China is winning too many medals and it makes the Asian Games boring for other countries.

So what's you guys opinion on this?

It seems be a sensible option. Obviously, China is winning too many gold medals, which may eventually kill the games if other countries' enthusiasm over the games is devastated. Other countries may not be interested in competing in this event if their participations are not properly awarded. Therefore, for the sake of the games, China should moderately restrain herself.

But let's be honest, are you ready to accept it if China stops being the first on the gold medal tally? Are you prepared to watch Chinese team being defeated by others again and again on TV?

Well, i am not ready yet.

You have a point but I support sending talented but younger athletes because this is looking way too lopsided.

2 Korea 43 36 50
3 Japan 24 49 51
4 Iran 8 7 13
5 China Hong Kong 5 9 6

Sending young athletes will have the added bonus of them getting international experience for the summer olympics

we already watch our football team fail over and over again on TV. they're more like a clown brigade rather than a real team. so we're used to seeing failure in that aspect.

I wouldn't never China getting fewer medals as long as South Korea or Japan doesn't win them.

That is the problem here.

As of now, only Japan and South korea are capable of challenging China in most of the occasions. If you have followed the games, you will find out most of the final contests take place between China and Japan or South Korea.

Both South Korea and Japan are sending their best athletes to Guangzhou Asia Games, they desire gold medals as much as we do. If China doesn't do the same, it is highly possible China may lost to them.

How about table tennis, badminton, gymnastics, etc?

You accept the failure of football team, because they have failed us too many times. We know they are hopeless, we don't expect anything of them. Nonetheless, deep inside our hearts, we are still hoping for miracle, aren't we?

Asiad bikini girls distract volleyball players

(AFP)

GUANGZHOU, China — Bikini-wearing Asian Games beach volleyball cheer squads are proving too hot for some competitors who claim the scantily-clad dancers make it impossible to concentrate.

"They had an effect on how we played," Yemen beach volleyballer Adeeb Mahfoudh told the Tianfu Morning News on Wednesday.

"I think they had something to do with our losing the match."

The Yemeni men's team lost their Tuesday clash to an apparently more focused team from Indonesia, the paper said.

Organisers of the Guangzhou Asiad have hired four cheerleader squads, each made up of eight girls in swimsuits, to entertain fans during breaks in the beach volleyball action, said the newspaper.

Besides cheering on the already capacity crowds, the girls also perform routines that include traditional Chinese elements including martial arts and fan dancing.

"These girls are very beautiful. With them here, more people will pay attention to beach volleyball," smiled Mahfoudh.

"If I can, I hope to watch them perform at the next match."

During an "inspection" tour on Tuesday, Kenneth Fok, deputy delegation head of Team Hong Kong -- and reportedly romantically involved with China's Olympic diving champion Guo Jingjing -- said the beach volleyball venue was "orderly" and the rally team "sexy," the paper said.
