Bangladesh Pakistan China standing united would certaintly bring balance to the region. I doubt India would accept such a thing given its hindutva inspired hedgemonistic tendencies.

Please can someone clarify is the engines for JF17s made in Russia or are they supplied by the Chinese. Russian may be strong armed by the chinese to supply the engines for JF17 but I think they may object to these going to Bangladesh via JF17 when they can sell us migs etc directly.

Is Pakistan trying to develop its own engines? I hope very soon there will be a indiginious non western war plane that is on par with the best. ( I am including Russia as part of the west).

As long as Bangladesh has training programs with India, I dont think Pakistan will see any equipment to them. Its simple. Why Pakistan let the enemy lay its hands on an equipment tailor made to Pakistan needs.

Bangladesh does have training exercise with India- but thats commando exercise without any involvement of air craft, ship and tanks. Anyway, Bangladesh uses chinese products but conducts most of exercises with USA! It keeps all her chinese products away during those exercises. For example - during naval exercise it only use South korean frigates and ex royal navy ships!!

1) All the heavy military jet engines China fits in its made in China planes are foreign made, mostly Russsian.

2) If China has so far unsuccessful about building its own jet engines, it is almost impossible to do so by Pakistan, at least not now.

Just rephrase it "As long as a Pro-India Govt sits in Dhaka, it will not initiate any such step to acquire JF-17 from Pakistan neither India will let it do so."

An India friendly government (Awami League) is forever there whether its this term or the next one & so it is foolish to assume that they aren't going to allow significant access to the JF-17s to the Indians the way we are speculated to get for the many aircraft in Arab or Chinese inventory !

And even the BNP isn't 'Anti-India & Pro-Pakistan' but more of being 'neutral' on Pakistan !

How can we then risk something like this ?

Here's a catch, if we really want to know about the aircraft, can't we pay couple of million dollars and asylum to the pilot to defect with the aircraft to Indian territory?
