I thought Pakistan was the developer of the JF-17? You can't count that as an export than can you? Or if you do then it is quite telling....

JF-17 was jointly designed ground up for PAF requirement in mind, not PLAAF, nor any other third party.

LCA Tejas is an ideal platform for the Lankans and with their robust economic growth they can even go for a heavier fighter jet. Those of you who think why LCA was not given much importance is because IAF has/had better options to go for and money to spend. Largest shortfall in aircraft as compared to whom?..IAF is still the 4th largest airforce in the world. IN will soon have a bigger airforce than most countries.

Shortfall here is gauged by optimum operational requirement.
