What's new

Naval variant of LCA Tejas to undergo tests in Goa soon!

Harinarayana added that the LCA had also evinced keen interest from foreign countries.
Hope this will make HAL, produce tejas faster:yahoo:

There is No official world that 6 a/c will be TDs.
Max 2-3 could be TDs remaining will be used for Training

The Navy insisted on N-LCA being based only on MK2 varients, that's why they didn't placed an order for a single MK1 squadron unlike IAF. All operational N-LCAs will be produced only after 2018 when the MK2 is expected the be ready and that although N-LCA could be used before from our new carrier alongside the Migs too. Anything they build now is only for tech demo and testing.

INCORRECT . Naval FLAG Staff are prepared for 3 more years for NLCA as IAC will need a/c Sqn by 2017.

First of all, IAC won't be inducted by then and even if, the first fighters that will be operational on it will be Migs. The rest as stated above, N-LCA is dependent on the development of the MK2 upgrade.

Yeah but no mater much they improve it how will they overcome less thrust to weight ratio problem?? Why will Navy accept under powered NLCA mk1??

Son... the a/c in current formation is not under powered but the issue is Our desire for ever increasing P/W ratio never cedes
If you compare Naval roles and attack profiles Hi-Lo-Hi, Lo-Lo-Hi, it meets the requirements. Let me elaborate. There will be predominantly 2 roles for this a/c. At FAD role, all 7 stations will not be armed to W/L of a/c SRAAM, LRAAM, AShms will be Mix in formation of 2 a/c. In Naval Air Interdiction role the NLCA will have support from MIG29K. Only case where I feel it willbe an issue is Recce role & Nuclear Strike.

They can't because they need a good TWR to take off and with the additional weight, the N-LCA needs the higher thrust. The MK1 version is only useful to test it from the shore based facilities, nothing more.

Rubbish.

SBTF is nothing more than an Aircraft carrier with Aresteor wires at Land. Go and see the one Dabolin.

PW ratio for NLCA at the moment ia around .8 and it is ample for the a/c. Issue is Navy want the PW ratio to be near 1 like IAF.

Are you sure they contain arrestor wire facility at SBTF to catch the aircrafts ??

Has Pakistan made an aircraft design on it's own? JF 17 is like SU 30 MKI, a joint venture. If not scram!
what is your means ? JF17 is reality and operational
and has been entered in JF17 Block-II phase,
The JF17 thunder is designed by the PAF
and is a Jointly developed project,
if the SU 30 MKI look like as JF17 thunder
than what is your problem ?
are you want PAF developed a flying saucer unique from basic fighter jet ? you are wrong !!!
the HAL is consuming time since 1980 and after Kaveri engine failure, and heavy weight problems the Naval variant prototype is testing for face saving of HAL

Yes,a JV with China,so stop boasting about it.

:woot:

Have Pakistan developed
1)A turbofan engine
b)A carrier based aircraft

If not GTFO.

Do you understand the difficulties in converting a airforce version aircraft into naval version?? Its not at all easy Many things like arrester, landing gear e.tc. have to be added which makes the aircraft heavy which in turn compromises the perfomance of aircraft. To solve this problem either integrate a whole new engine delievering higher thrust or reduce the weight of aircraft.
Now if you integrate a new engine then you have to completely redesign the aircraft.
after the unsolved problem of heavy weight the only solution was the conversion of Naval version.

Bull shit! The F414 powered version was suggested to Navy for navalised LCA by HAL itself.

(1) JV is not secret project and its not prototype like LAC.:cuckoo:
(1/A) when technology is available why we start the work from KG class like Your Hall we are the witness of failure of Kaveri engine since last three decades .:cuckoo:
(1/B) why carrier aircraft like your Russian leased .:cuckoo:
we have our own cruise missiles ability to destroy the carrier aircraft. :guns:

The naval prototype of (LCA) Already delayed by four years, the program still faces design concerns, including weight. Strengthening of the rear airframe for carrier operations, and the addition of an arrestor hook, has made the aircraft about 1,000 pounds overweight.
India has ordered 99 F414-INS6 engines to power Mk2 versions of the Tejas, but they are believed to offer the standard 22,000 pounds of thrust. The prototype and limited series production Tejas Mk1s–including the naval prototype–are powered by GE F404-IN20 engines that produce 17,700 pounds. India ordered 41 of these after development problems with the indigenous Kaveri engine that was supposed to power the LCA.

You are repeating what he has said himself...:cuckoo:

Don't compare apples with oranges. Compare JV with JV. JF-17 v/s Su-30MKI

(1/A) when technology is available why we start the work from KG class like Your Hall we are the witness of failure of Kaveri engine since last three decades .

Everything is a failure until it succeeds. One can only learn from mistakes and continue development.

(1/B) why carrier aircraft like your Russian leased

If your talking about Vikramaditya we bought it, not leased it.

we have our own cruise missiles ability to destroy the carrier aircraft.

We have our own surface-to-air missile ability to destroy the aircraft carrying the cruise missile itself.
