And yet Pakistanis were boasting like anything on this forum about how Sri Lanka will purchase the "Pakistani" JF-17, and how this shows how super-duper it is. When that bubble burst, suddenly it became an aircraft suited only for Pakistan and not for any 3rd party.

As for "jointly designed" - I'm sure that Pakistanis will believe this. It reached Pakistan after all tests and validations were performed in Chengdu.

you even call project like FGFA joint project LOL, you are not even allowed to sit in the cockpit after few hundreds of millions paid, let alone test flying it.

He posted a logical question..how many LCA operation so far? How many LCA sold so far? And how many LCA has been bought by Sri Lanka? No sale is final until you get a purchase order!

According to Lankan sources they will bid an open tender so JF17 and LCA along with many others may end up competing..

Sri lanka, or venezuela or any other country ??...If you truly give aid to sri lanka to help out that country then why don't you trust them ?? why do you feel that it will at some point attack you ??

Have you done something in the past for which your conscience haunts you ??

And lets say even if they do purchase 8 jets of a 3rd rate country then what chance do they have infront of one of the worlds largest airforce in the world ??

Hands in PAF with IOC with still integration of weapons going and PAF giving inputs to China for its customisation. IAF is more stingent customer and wants everything ready from day one and they want ASTE test pilots to do all testing and validation not IAF pilots.

LOLZ god have given the brain pls use that. It is due to the fact, that Russian Law don't allow foriegn pilot to fly Russian jet in their airspace. And why should they fly when they can fly in India when the FGFA prototype is transfered to HAL, and don't worry you don't have to wait too long to see that period.

FGFA hasn't even been designed yet. We can't sit in the cockpit of a non existent aircraft. What is flying is PAKFA, and we do not claim that is a joint-development.

The MKI had Indian input from day one, but we don't call it a joint development. Only Tejas is called an indegenous aircraft, the rest are foreign aircrafts that may have been built to Indian specifications, and are license produced by India.

Other than MKI, Mig-21s, 27s, jaguars etc have also been made in India by the thousands.

The only modern combat aircraft that was designed in India by Indians is the Tejas. There is no equivalent in Pakistan. China has a lot more experience than us in testing prototypes and building fighters, which is why China could flight test and operationalize JF-17 much quicker than India can.

LOL, really? We are manufacturing far more complex aircrafts than the Chinese designed JF-17. We have manufactured thousands of fighter jets, while Pakistan has made 50 JF-17s. We now even have our own indegenously designed fighter.

Why on earth would we have khattay angoor mentality? Or were you speaking about yourself?

That's unlikely, for one thing, Sri Lanka's needs are very little, they would need at most one squadron. For a small order like that, an open tender is too much of a hassle. My guess is that their purchase would depend on closed room negotiations about geopolitical benefits.

All this news about JF-17 or Tejas being considered is coming from overenthusiastic Pakistani and Indian bloggers and journalists. Until SL officially announces something, I wouldn't give too much importance to news like this.
