Panama Case - Post Verdict Discussion and Updates

So i wasted my money traveling to Pakistan to vote in 2013? Maybe i should not make the same mistake in 2018

I was really very sad to hear that 2018 elections will be manipulated. I had hoped that we have learnt our lessons, clearly we haven't.

agreed mate, in all the previous instances where we had an engineered govt Pakistan and its people have suffered. Looks like we are going to continue in the same path

They won’t be systematically rigged as they were before - however at individual level as well as wherever caretaker setup can play their cards will be played. You think in Punjab Shahbaz will not use the bureaucracy to twist however much he could or PPP will become saint in Sindh and let their bureaucracy become saints too?

The only difference this time will be there is no Ch Iftikhar as CJP nor Kayani type COAS who has immense love for $ or £ - so institutional and systematic rigging won’t be possible but as they say for PPP and PMLN parties .....

The difference amounts to a few percentage change plus or minus. All be it a potentially decisive influnce on some seats, but the rest has to be managed by the candidate if possible or face defeat. Thats why there was a need for election reforms that got lost due to political indifference, and arguably, a loss of focus of PTI to the collusion of PMLN and PPP in keeping the reforms and restructuring to a minimum and nonexistent in essence respectively.

The difference this time is that siding with PMLN amounts to standing with the anti state KingPin and those who do their dirty work will standout as anti state. PMLN has no future in politics without the support of the state. Nawaz and Co are facing MakafateAmal and all those siding with them will face the same fate, in sha Allah.

I agree with @Realistic Change and also believe that the conservative voter of PMLN has already bolted due to PMLn's self leg chopping habit that this time resulted due to changes in Khatmenabowat laws that were eventually repealed while leaving only negativity in its aftermath.

Their own pre election doings amount to as much level playing field as possible unlike the gloomy and dismal situation of the planned, engineered and systematically rigged elections of 2013. The difference this time is lack of likes of Ch.Iftikhar and Gen Keyani. So the next elections might as well be the fairest due to lack of engineering of the past that got the two thirds majority to pmln.

However, there is no denying that PMLN will try every dirty trick in the book to win seats and here it is the job of PTI and other political opponents to counter the same.

If there was ever a need to vote, ever a time to stand up and be counted then 2018 is definately the time to make every vote count against the status quo and collusion of PMLN and PPP.

I 100% agree with you that PMLn and PPP will do the rigging as much as and whereever they. But this form of rigging can be stopped, as long as the EC is working efficiently and impartially - and army helps the EC.

The rigging that is impossible to be stopped is the INSTITUITIONAL RIGGING (the examples are of Ch Iftikhar and Gen Kayani).

One promoted the rigging (Ch Iftikhar)
One looked the other way (GEn Kayani).

@Shane

Nawaz and Maryam expected to face more crowd insults in Rahim yar khan, Quetta and other heartless shows of supposed political power as the recent humiliation in Abbotabad:

So PML N tried to create an issue or the other. Like some issues regarding Pakistan's nuclear capability, but the Khatm-e-Nabuwat one has worked and caused vibration in the public. Now they can increase its intensity as they wish. Let's see how they use it to save the looted wealth.

My choice of vote is easy since I voted for Asad Umar... No need to second guess his integrity...the choice for other constituencies voters may not be so easy and close to the heart but the thing to remember is to vote for the possible winner against PMLN and PPP, which means that the automatic choice are PTI candidates, no matter who they are, as PTI needs to win by the same tactics against the goons of other parties who employ every dirty trick to win seats so they may have to choose dubious in the past but winning characters this time or risk losing again as so is our current electoral process.

well someone is telling me the new electoral reforms now allow you to be eligible regardless of foreign work permit or financial records outside the country...

Can anyone shed some light on this?

No wonder this Dharna cover up is working nicely for PMLN to mask their cunning approach in strangling the counry.

The protest may end up wrapping the whole parliament it seems.

The first and foremost responsibility lies with the opposing political forces to filter out the back of the hand tricks employed by rulers in the name of electoral reforms. If they are inept or stubbornly refuse to focus on finding such idiosyncrasies then this nation deserves to be ruled by such a lot we now find sitting on both sides of the assemblies. If it so then,

Bas "Aik hi ullu" kafi tha barbade gulistan karnay ko.
har shakh pay ullu baitha hay, anjame gulistan kya hoga?

all political parties unanimously agreed on the electoral reforms apart from Jamshed Dasti the fake degree holder. speaks volumes for the way Pakistani parliament is designed and flocked by the mafia.

people blindly support the false idols of flesh. What can one say? Let them have it what they desire

It is more like who wraps whom first. If do not stop them, they'll wrap the country. If they announce operation against the protest, their intentions will be clear. That is the time "rok sako to rok lo"
