Compare Su30 MKI available rate+individual price and maintenance expences and with same expense and resources how many JF17s Pakistan can put in air in time of conflict. The equation won't be tilted much.

PAF needs the FORCE multipler to make Thunder more valuable ON their own they will not be as eefective

The presence of AWACS has changed all that. As of now, with 7 AWACS in active duty, it's iaf with just 3 who needs to worry

Indian have more then 200 su30 mki fighters. HAL Tejas will replace second line fighters aircraft but for 1st line, India will have mki, rafele and new aircraft.

Same goes to Pakistan, jf 17 is good to replace 2nd line aircraft's but not fit to replace 1st line aircraft's even like f16



India should produce like mig 21 bison aircraft because it will have other supports?

reason india is buying is for kick backs , there is no point in buying gripen when u have tejas(unless design flaws means IAF doesnt want tejas)

gripen is similar to thunder, infact both have similar range, payload and exact identical hard points(7)

the reason why india wanted rafale makes sense(poor availability of MKI) but no sense for gripen

the whole concept of ultra light(tejas), light(new fighter), medium,(mig 29) medium heavy(mirage) and heavy(rafale), ultra heavy(MKI) only lies in india(not couting the junk like mig 21,27,jaugers), even USA only primarily operate 2 multirole aircrfats(f-16s and f-15s) most of nations like in europe and sweden only operate a single plateform, sweden the only large airforce in europe operates only jaggen and than gripen while UK/german operated only tornados and typhoons while rest single f-16s in numbers (>200 in cold era for Belgium, dutch)

pakistan is better with operating huge numbers of thunders>200 supported 5-6 squardons of -16

2030 will be the year of Generation 6 Aircraft. I will suggest you to bypass gen 4.5 and approach Gen 5 beore year 2030.

JF-17 block 1 and 2 are just to replace old Aircraft's but yeah Block 3 would be a nightmare for Indian pilots , with Chinese Aesa radar , HMD , more payload , Increase in wing size , composite material usage , 10 hps , upgraded RD-93M engine and many more goodies it will become a true 4.5 Gen aircraft thus we can say it will be a nightmare for Indian pilots .
+ PAF will upgrade Thunder block 1 and 2s later on ....
