We did have a case of death penalty here in India not so long ago.The case of Hetal Parekh ,a teenaged girl.

yes! and the irony is that.....people doing 7/8 murders are getting life sentence.........as judges consider only rape to be the most heinous crime.
I am not saying that rape is not a heinous crime......but I would like to protect my family members from murderers first.

the tricky part here is, how will you confirm that she really got raped or not, without medical and circumstantial evidences i.e witnesses etc.??

In our culture woman serve life in hail worse than death in our society. No need to take death concept so word wise.Rape is worse than death for women in our society.
