Indian food-- Best in the world

Arrrgh - do you know how hard it is to stay in a frozen freaking wasteland and not have pohe or thalipit or shrikhand for 3 years??!

That bowl of pohe's made me hungry again. I hope you're happy. :argh:

Haha....

guys, who think indian food is less spicy...
it is less spicy in restaurants and hotels, ghar ka khana is a lot more spicy and of course, tasty.

hyd is famous for non-veg dishes specially the eternal BIRYANI

Never had proper marathi cuisine, though marathi fast food is awesome.
any good restaurants for marathi cuisine in bombay or poona ? and by any chance outside the state ?

I'm afraid I have never seen a Marathi restaurant in my life!

Most of our cuisine is very rustic - bhakris made of jowar, bajra etc. and you have to visit a Marathi home to eat it.

You can blame that on the lack of Marathi entrepreneurs I guess!

Marathi Fast food is more famous like Pohe, Batata Wada, Dhokla, Sabudana, etc. and some dishes, but staple Marathi cuisine is very much a domestic affair.

I always thought Dhokla is a Gujarati dish. Yum....

Any and every Delhi'ite will profess a dangerous level of partiality to one dish:

Choley Bhature.

well am feeling hungry now ! .

and as far as i know choley bhature basicly came from punjab (INDIA) .

and how about some punjabi food :smitten: .

Dal makhani
Palak Paneer
Curry Pakora
Aloo Methi

etc , etc.

Punjabi food is great, but there's too much butter/ghee/oil. Good for hefty Sardars, but not for us light-footed Marathis :)

We prefer minimum oil and ghee, and lots of whole grains like jowar/bajra etc.
Also, lots of meat - chicken and mutton.

Flint I want sabudane ki kichadi with dhokale and also chole bhature and also pav bhaji also vada pav and ............................

I am hungry

:lol::lol:
