I think you are confused. You are not from the region so you would be spared any nuclear fallout that will devastate our region. Sabotaging such critical apparatus could have regional effects. And Pakistan in its security assessment where it includes Climate change and pandamics as threats should also include Israeli activities in our region. I do not expect Iranians to build nukes, being a theocracy they are bound by their religion secondly they value logic to ever actually use nukes, unlike the Al-Qaida/ISIS producers who refute logic.

Technical explanation for technical people so far:
Natanza underground centrifuge area receives its primary power from outside (above ground). The back up battery power is also fed to the underground site via a cable from outside.

The explosion at above ground damaged the primary power line and also cut off the back up battery power.

Some of the old version centrifuges stopped spinning and were damaged due to lack of power.
Power is now restored...all old and damaged machines will be replaced with more advanced version and that process has already started.

PS:interesting info..The first explosion in natanz about 9 months ago was done by placing a bomb inside a soild calibration table.The ones I am familiar with are made of granite stone...plant inspectors thinking it is a solid piece did not think it could be rigged to hide a bomb and let it to come in and the rest is well know..

Here's what's going on in the middle east...

A complex game has been afoot in the middle east for many many years. Israel and USA cleverly deploys Persians and Arabs against one another. Arabs don't see it, or rather, the house of Saud chooses not to care that they are slaves to the American-Israeli axis. Persians have figured it out. However, the senior-most ranks in Tehran play along cautiously, desperately trying to turn the tables against the colonialists in the long term. Tehran believes that it can defeat the Arabs AND acquire a nuclear insurance policy also. Why does Tehran need this insurance policy? Because as soon as the Arabs are defeated and nullified as a viable and independent force (which is very close to happening), Israel and USA will steamroll the mullahocracy. Israel is less patient than USA and is trying to achieve all its objectives at once.

All that really matters in this game is whether Iran can hold out long enough to acquire a viable nuclear deterrent. I think they can.

They do have back up Generators but the time lag between main power cut off and generators coming online is where you use the battery back up..which in their case battery power was cut off also by the explosion...the time lag where the battery back up was not available will cause the rotors spinning to crash.
