Team don't look bad on paper but they are playing with defensive mindset ..tahir, Rabada, Faf du Plessis. David miller, Chris morris , Quinton De kok are all big names and plenty of experience in T2o leagues and they performed there ..They are just low on confidence and lack attacking mindset

South African players play T20 Leagues all over world and sorry, 20 over players can not perform in longer format of 50 overs ODI cricket...country always come first.

Congratulations to Pak cricket team and fans. If Pak can win the next three, they are almost certainly through. Of the three, AFG & BD are shoo ins, only NZ could be a challenge.

Congratulations and all aside, even three consecutive wins for Pakistan may not be enough for them to qualify for the semis if other results don't go their way.

True. But if IND bt SL and ENG lose to 2 out of 3 against NZ, OZ & Ind (and incidentally they havent beaten ANY of these sides in WC matches since 1992), Pak are thru. So what Pak needs to pray is for two things:

1. They win all 3 remaining matches
2. Their arch enemy (Ind) win all theirs.

For once, we will have our Pak brethren praying for us....

Bangladesh should also be part of the calculus. Bangladesh is also worthy of semi final contender inclusion. Sri Lanka to a little lesser extent based on their form despite leading by one additional point.

Pak vs Bangla on July 5 and Lanka Vs India on 6 July could potentially be exciting matches for the last slot into semis.

Pakistan yet to play Bangladesh. Remember we already said, Pakistan to win all its matches.
IF Bangladesh wins against Pakistan, Pakistan would be out anyway.

Nothing is decided until every match is played.

Who could have thought that England would lose after SL set the low total?

Yeah sure, for individual matches yes. But for tournament no, if England had won against Sri Lanka, games would have been up for other teams to qualify. It is numbers game. If it is statistically impossible to qualify it is over.

That Pak Vs Bangla match is the last World Cup match for Pak and Bangladesh before semis kick in. Yes off course whoever wins this one will have a chance for semis assuming both have a won their other 2 matches- Pak against NZ and Afghanistan & Bangladesh against Afghanistan and India.

LONDON: Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa visited the Lord’s cricket ground on Sunday to watch the Pakistan cricket team playing against South Africa in their key World Cup match.

General Bajwa was accompanied by British Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt and Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Asif Ghafoor to the cricket stadium. Prime Minister Imran Khan’s son Suleman Khan also went to Lord’s to watch the match. Suleman Khan was standing with a group of people and shied away from responding to any questions.
