South Africa vs Pakistan: Match to Watch, Lords - WorldCup 2019

That's because they have the worst captain and opener in the world cup...I mean seriously he should have grabbed that opportunity when ABD offered to come back to the team..And WTF he is doing by carrying Hashim Amla..Hashim has been the most over hyped and selfish player i have ever seen...

SA has a very good team. They are just not playing well at the moment. ABD is also not what he used to be. He wouldn't have made a big difference in my opinion. SA is rebuilding.

Pakistan played well except for the catches. The fielding was much better.

Team don't look bad on paper but they are playing with defensive mindset ..tahir, Rabada, Faf du Plessis. David miller, Chris morris , Quinton De kok are all big names and plenty of experience in T2o leagues and they performed there ..They are just low on confidence and lack attacking mindset

Waste of time now. What a bunch of losers our cricket team are apart from Amir. If Pak somehow make it to the SF, they will deprive a team that actually deserves to be there firstly, and secondly will increase the already severe risk of India winning the whole thing by providing them with a walk over win should Pak face India at any point again. I wish for Eng, NZ and Aus to get through as any them can beat India but also, they actually deserve it. Furthermore, any false "resurgence" of Pak will mask the glaring problems we have. we still dropped at least SIX chances in this game.....SIX!!!!! Spineless, gutless, unprofessional team. I hope they do not win any more.

Loving the new players expressions on field and especially the new statistics animations on TV screens, music, analysis of game, better newer angles of camera for immersive match game watch - just became beautiful and interesting, the new camera, spider cam angles made the cricket action immersive. Players expressions, disappointment and wicket Kock and Ngidi action, need more player and games expressions in the worldcup.

Thats what the Worldcup needs more emotions and expressions and new analysis tool on TV.

Hope it is occurred to the clueless selection team of PCB that a conventional batsman can change gears and play a hard hitting innings and at the same time a longer one, Haris Sohail was a case in point. The earlier selection of pinch hitter like Asif was a mistake. Fakhar Zaman also looks limited in shots and not a natural player, more of a power hitter.

Pakistan could have been better placed if Azhar Ali and Asad Shafiq was in the team, and the result could have been different against Australia, India and WI.

In case people were wondering, New Zealand defeated India in a 50 overs warm-up match before WCC.

https://www.espncricinfo.com/series/19134/report/1173348/india-vs-new-zealand-world-cup-warm-up-2019

New Zealand have the capability to bounce back from extreme situations and handle pressure.

Pakistan will be fighting for its life in this case, calm before the storm moment at present.

We just need to focus on winning 4 out of 4 matches

Team need to be Serious in fielding , bowling and batting next 3 games

1992 New Zeland was undefeated team prior to facing Pakistan
2019 New Zeland is undefeated team prior to facing Pakistan

There are many statistical problems in this world cup because of 10 teams tournament, compared to 1992 which was 9 team tournament.

1- Pakistan winning all their remaining matches still muster only 11 points. (5 at present + 2 for each win 3 =6)

2- New Zealand already on 11 points, we cannot catch them due to our inferior run rate. NZ have to lose all their matches with big margin for Pakistan to take their place in Semis.
3- Australia is still in the reach, they are on 10 points. Provided they don't win any of their remaining 3 matches. But if they win even 1 out of their 3 matches, they would be on 12 points and out of reach. I say they are out of reach already.
4- India on 9 points from their 5 matches. It is very highly unlikely they will lose all their remaining 4 matches.
5- England are on 8 points after 6 matches. Pakistan can catch them provided, England lose all or at least 2 of their remaining matches. In that case they would be on 10 points.
But if they win 2 of their 3 matches they would be on 12 points and out of Pakistan's reach.

6- Australia have 2 tough matches against NZ and England, which they can potentially lose. Their third match is against SA. There is a chance SA would play for pride and defeat Australia, which looks highly unlikely, but you never know.
7- England also have 3 tough games, against AUS, NZ and India. They can potentially lose all. But if they win the other two teams would be in Pakistani radar, potentially.
8- NZ also have 3 tough matches, next against Pakistan, which Pakistan has to win, otherwise they are out and all possibilities are gone, dead. Their two other games are against Aus and England which they possibly can lose.
Provided they lose matches with big margins, Pakistan can still catch them on higher run rate basis.
9- India have 4 matches against WI, England, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. They have potential to win all these matches. We should pray they defeat England at least for our chances.

It is possible for Pakistan but extremely tough.

For Pak the scenario is simple. Keep winning every match and don't worry about others.

you forgot sri lanka they have 1 point more than pak which will be very crucial in the end and their 3 remaining fixtures are with SA, WI, IND. Now believe it or not pak's destiny for semis is in the hands of Eng and Ind!, how strange!

It would be difficult for Sri Lanka to win any of their matches. In any case India is very tough, SA could also be tough for them. WI depends on how WI play. Yesterday they should have won against NZ if Braitthwaite hold his breath and waited for the last over to score remaining 6 runs. He tried to finish the match in the last ball of the 49th and paid the price.

Nothing is decided until every match is played.

Who could have thought that England would lose after SL set the low total?

Imo cwc is just starting to unfold and there will be surprizes in the upcoming matches

Bangladesh should also be part of the calculus. Bangladesh is also worthy of semi final contender inclusion. Sri Lanka to a little lesser extent based on their form despite leading by one additional point.

Pak vs Bangla on July 5 and Lanka Vs India on 6 July could potentially be exciting matches for the last slot into semis.

big bellies come in the way while catching.
