If UAE can deliver them in 2015 , then India too should look at them , specially the versions inducted in 2002-04
As u know that 30 of the 60 odd UAE Mirages were inducted in 2002-04 and are just 7-9 yrs old with atleast 25 yrs of life still left in them
Also at 20 Mil Euro or 32 Mil USD they are also a great deal considering that we paid a Bloody 40 Mil Each to upgrade our 51 odd Mirage 2000H

I did mention it earlier, IAF will be at much more ease of inducting these platforms as they would already have infrastructure in place and these are coming quite cheap (50% of the price of a vintage 4th Gen). But an issue that i see with IAF is that its literally unwilling to reduce it types operated, they could have let Fulcrums retire and let Tejas do the job, but they didn't. They could have let M-2000 go and let MMRCA do its job, but they didn't. The same goes for Jaguar, Looks like IAF only wants to induct not retire anything.......I wont be surprised if Russians turn up with another Mig-21 upgrade and IAF accepts it, looks like its very possible.

Well unless we get all 80 planes for deal or something may be for our Junior Pilots its a good option but I just don't see the point to get these Mirages - that are outdated if UAE had them they probbly were just flying caskets as Europeans don't put anything good sold to muslims armies

Pretty sure the planes must have limited range
Limited missile capabilities
Limited avionics as usual

Just to make sure that garbage planes are sold to UAE and other middle eastern nations

Actually it is not the french who are considered un-reliable-----it is the pakistanis who have deceived the french at every step----paks have their heads so deep in their own-sh-it----that they start to believe what they imagine as well----paks deceived the french about the purchase of m2000 in the 80's----then in the 90's----then a massive deception regarding the purchase of airbus in th early 2000 when pia went for boeing---even though alots of dealing was done with airbus----.

What the french did with paks regarding the cancellation of the 1.2 billion dollar project was to put pakistan air force in its place----pay back a millions time over----shook the very base of the pakistani air force foundation---they were running like the blind in endless circles.

In the world of weapons sales--there is a saying----never pis-s off the french and don't mess with doctors without borders---. Jumping from the french agosta subs to the german subs----airbus to boeing was not the smartest of the moves---.

The analogy given above was not made up----.
Sir even in Pakistani deals, French deals are the most notorious ones. From Brazil to India, French are known to be people trying to bribe their way in rather than competing on merit. From buying a stand at airshow to selling subs, French have earned the reputation of being cheaters themselves, something Pakistan didn't cause. The deal for Mir-2000 was scrapped due to allegations of kickbacks, not Pakistan going for US platform. The naval engineers bus incident was also tracked back to kickbacks. PAF was in favor of Mir-2000 but had the deal been transparent, we would have seen them flying in green. Anyways, Type-214 was more advanced than Agosta, the french offered Merlin, a drawing board concept to compete against an in production boat. What do you think would be the obvious choice? The french again reportedly jumped in with their dirty tactics to "motivate" Zardari sahib to reconsider the deal. The french made a nuke deal with Pakistan and then backed out, they made a deal on JFT parts and then backed out, Sir they are not bad marketers as u put them, they are cleaver in a way that they try to make up for their product quality by "other means". They had two choices, either do a 10 Billion USD business with India or do a 1.2 Billion Business with Pakistan, they went that way which offered better prospectus to them. There is a saying about French,
N'importe qui peut gagner, à moins qu'il n'y arrive d'être une seconde entrée. (Anybody can win, unless there happens to be a second entry.)
Pretty much sums up their modus operandi.

They are certainly not junk, here read through

Well I just don't feel buying a 10 year old plane does any good , unless delivery will be under 6 months then yes why not

A turkish - Pakistan - China production on a military fighter jet or helicopter would be a worthy investment instead

The gain of buying old Mirage is limited what we need is a assembly line and transfer of technology

See,

We read what the mind wants to see and what it has already decided---what it is going to be like----you missed the second part about the heart of gold----.

I am not being harsh----when the majority or the good people don't speak out and stand for their rights and dues----they have their heads buried----. It is simply not good enough to stay quiet.

Sorry for being bit off topic mods

MK so what do you want from the people who hardly get food twice a day, they don't have much to think about what is going around coz they are already fighting for survival----they are deliberately thrown in such condition that one can't come out of it so easily , .we don't have a free society here like in US or for that matter in many other countries , here there is no difference b/w a dictatorship and a democracy .different names but same game, and why would the elites be bothered about bad happenings around them because they too are the part of the system and getting their share in chunks .anywayz thread might get derailed .so better not prolong it

Here a person can't fight for his own rights let alone the defence and all that corruption stuff

mirage 2000 is an old bird now.pakistani rose upgraded mirages r very close to mirage 2000.we need air crafts which are atleast equivalent to F-16C or more advanced than it.JFT blk 2 is very close to f-16s but has an edge in radar.J-10 may be equal to f-16 in agility and has definite edge in radar.mirage 2000 is inferior to f-16c in almost every aspect.

Hi,

This is truly a surprising post----the 2000-9 is of the same capability and calibre as thew blk 52-----did you mean to say that UAE were stupid enough to buy something barely similiar to Mirage 3 / 5 rose upgrade----that is astonishing------.

Well If Mirage 2000-9 was so great then why did UAE go for F16 BLK 60 ? :)

Roles, every aircraft has it limitations, while Mir-2000 has the critical capability of launching Black shaheen Stand off Cruise missile, F-16 came with SEAD, Better BVR, Better Radar and better Antiship capabilities

Lovely!.............

Like i said . India should look at those planes which were inducted in 2002-04 , since they are quite young and could serve us till 2030-35 and at 20 MIL Euro or 32 Mil USD they are not that bad a deal
