So, if anybody had any serious doubts about JF-17 going toe-to-toe with any 4.5 Gen fighters, they ought to be dispelled. This baby is gonna kick many butts.

In two years time in the subcontinent, the Rafale will become obsolete.

According to this video, it just seems plug and play. No redesigning of the cone. @Dazzler @Windjammer

For max effect, this will need to be paired with a solid EW package. And its efficacy against SPECTRA is unknown. But I am quite sure the Chinese will keep innovating until they overcome even these problems.

The efficacy of SPECTRA under various threat scenarios is also unknown.

Point taken. But we can't declare victory until such questions are resolved.

No one should, with the developments being discussed, it is a stalemate at best until some radical development surfaces at either side.

But it is these very unknowns which make aerial warfare such an intriguing subject. With well matched sides, it is all about tactics, skill, and a bit of luck.

I will take a stalemate and run with it any day.

In the longer term, it boils down to HDI and that is where Pakistan is hurting the most. This should be subject of intense focus for the next 15 or so years, not more and more weapons that do nothing for improvement in HDI.

It is the unknowns that let one to strive for upgradation and improvements. The entire cold war era is a testament to that.
