Based on the interview, there are two versions of KJL7a:one is "HIGHEND" that has two sidevison AESE like you PIC,the other is "LOWEND" that has no such aese。And PAF was choosed the "LOWEND" version。
Sir how do you know that paf choose low end radar?

In the interview, the presenter had asked such a question to de GM of 14所(the manufacturer of KJL-7a),and the GM confirmed that the LOWEND version was chosen by PAF.

That's probably because high end was not available when choice was made and follow up order would be for high end

I.mean good radar is going to arm jf 17 and its tailor made for that aircraft

Klj7a is a high wattage radar. Even if it can be coupled with the present engine, it might be a difficult option to adjust. Where as a properly designed to fit and manage its power on blk1 and 2. It's better to install a lighter version, rather calling it a low end version. Still it's range stated 170km.

If true, it would make sense as the additional arrays will consume plenty of power. Th aesa is already a power hungry sensor, adding more arrays means a more powerful powerplant. The kjl-7A even without side arrays will be one heck of an upgrade for the PAF and it being liquid cooled, it is more powerful than LFK-601E.

. . . . .
Low end version disappointment

That's more than enough, the lowest end is the air cooled version still it offers at least twice the capability of any mechanical scan radar. At best, the swashplate radar more capable and can rotate the antenna.

Can someone plz upload the video on youtube, i am having difficulty playing it.

. . .
So just to get the facts right
lkf 601E is the aesa tht replaces the mechanical KLJ 7 v1/2 radar in block 1 and 2 respectively...
And
Klj7A aesa is for block 3...
Now where would you put the so called high end radar???
