The Iran-Pakistan Border Barrier

One of the world’s most heavily fortified borders stretches between Iran and Pakistan. The Iran-Pakistan Barrier, currently under construction by the Iranian government, features a three-foot thick (.91 meters), ten-foot high (3.05 meter) concrete wall extending across 700 kilometers of forbidding desert terrain. The actual wall, however, is merely one part of an elaborate system of barriers. Exploration via Google Earth reveals several parallel structures running along much of the border, which evidently consist of linked embankments and ditches. Fortress-like structures are also visible in several areas, as are extensive road and track networks. As the walls, berms, dry moats, and other fortifications are all built on the Iranian side of the border, Pakistan has voiced no objections to the project. Tracing the barrier on Google Earth, however, shows several places in which it seemingly crosses the divide between the two countries. Either Iran has encroached on Pakistani territory or—as is vastly more likely—Google Earth does not accurately depict the actual boundary between the two states.

Meant no offense.

Just thought that Barbed wire would have been economical.

I'm sorry, will you forgive Iran if we accidently encroached on your land?, but I really don't think we would ever do something like that , most likely it's Google Earth fault for showing it like that.

I really really promise the Wall is a good thing for both Iran and Pakistan;)

No surprise given that Iranians are the world's biggest drug addicts especially when it comes to heroin - arguably the most dangerous "common" drug.

I hope that one of those subhumans enters KSA or any Arab country so a swift process could be applied to them ending in a death sentence.

Those fake wannabe Arab Mullah's in Tehran, Qom and Mashhad are probably also high on a daily basis. This probably explains the daily diarrhea coming out of their mouths and why they are laughing stock in the world even among the Muslim and Arab world they so fiercely try to attach themselves to.
Iran Suffers From an Extreme Drug Addiction Problem

There are some analysts who describe Iran's heroin addiction problem as the "worst in the world." Estimates of the number of addicts vary widely - from one million to more than three million habitual drug users. A 2006 report estimated that 8 percent of the adult population was addicted to drugs.
In 2009, it was said that each year, 130,00 new people become addicted to drugs in this country of 70 million people. Over a six year period, a half million people received treatment in a drug program. It is not known how many of these people successfully found drug-free lives in these treatment centers.
High unemployment figures cause desperation and that desperation can drive drug use. Drug abuse and addiction then can either drive the drug user into crimes to support his or her habit, or wind the person up in jail due to an arrest for sales or possession of drugs. Out of the 170,000 people in jail in Iran, 68,000 are there for drug trafficking and 32,000 are these because they are addicts.

With 2.8 percent of the population addicted to drugs, the United Nations states that Iran has the highest drug addiction rate in the world.

Even with a execution rate only second to China they can't deal with their problems, addictions, crime, poverty etc.

Messed up place.

Read it again, if iran fighting them why iranian keep flooding Indonesia with drugs?
If iran realy fighting them at least the number will reduce not increase

simple Iran yearly confiscate more than 800 tons of different sort of drug which alone is more than what the rest of the world confiscate together , then how you can claim that we don't fight it and more importantly there isn't even 1 Square meter of land in Iran that is used to raise drugs and planet that is used in producing them , all of the drugs come to our country from all other countries.

I don't think Indonesians take drug , they give it to boat smugglers instead of money to take them ostralia.

if you had the decency or luxury to use your brain before making these nonsense post , you'd had understand that with that amount of money , you can buy your way and your family and your descendant to several line legally into Australia .

human rights activist protested when Malaysia hanged an Australian :D

pot is not bad , it makes you , intelectual

try saying that to an indonesian  , I bet you can't eventhough you are girl

Pot make you lunatic , as a matter of fact there is evidence that Hashish put you in danger of schizophrenia .

by the way as you support this dangerous substance I wonder if you also use it personally ?

Yes, go ahead blame the others for Iran goverment fault

and you go blame Iran for something which is not produced in Iran.
you only confiscated less than a hundred kilo of drugs and you point the accusation finger toward others , we confiscate more than 800 ton a year and we don't point the our finger toward the rest of the world while all the equipment that is used for fighting drug smugglers are sanctioned and can be bought by us.

let tell you one thing that has recently get sanctioned and we cant acquire any more from foreign countries , its a device that some people think have dual use and can be used in WMD ,if you could not guess , its Dogs that are trained for finding drugs .

I would respectfully disagree with you. You claim that Iran has a Drug Problem because of its neighbours who produce these Drugs and smuggle them in Iran. My argument to you would be that these drugs are smuggled into Iran because there is a HUGE DEMAND FOR THESE DRUGS IN IRAN. We have a much bigger Border with Afghanistan than Iran has and yet we don't have 10% of our Population as Drug Addicts. Infact for a country with a Population of 200 million people our drug addicts may be less than 200,000 people which is less than 0.1% of our Population.

The issue is not availability or SUPPLY. The issue is huge DEMAND.

Pakistan has cyanide widely available through out Pakistan. But very few people choose to use it. So you have to understand the basic logic that SUPPLY DOES NOT PROMOTE USE OF DRUGS, DEMAND DOES. Supply simply shows up to meet the Demand.

So please do not blame Afghanistan or Pakistan for your drug issues.

well the estimation is about 2.5-m million of 75million population that put it somewhere between 3-4 percent of population not 10%

The use drugs isn't restricted to Iran solely, but most of nations on the planet.

But, if I may ask, what is the most suitable solution to such an epidemic?

well let just say , traffickers can hide , the drugs can be hidden ,you can use the drug out of the sight of the public . you also can hide the laboratory that make the drugs .

but you can't hide cocaine or opium fields , you destroy those fields by force and this industry die n less than 5 year.

Is this Iranian Pic.

The reason i am asking is that concrete walls cost much more than barbed wire boundaries. Could Iran afford a concrete walled frontier??

yes , Its Iran and barbed wire is useless, t even won't take 2 min to remove it .

by the way the original plan was a wall and a moat but later it changed to a wall .
