Defence Minister Antony says Arjun Mk II will cost Rs 37 crore per tank

Hm, the only good thing i see is that the money will be regulating in India's economy. It wont be going to a foreign economy.

No sir it is not the case, i think more than 40% of Arjun MK1 parts are foreign imports as i read here last year. I think the major reason of this high price tag for MK2 is also because of expensive foreign components, So all this money wont be used up in the local production.

Things have change now. More parts are now made in India. But if you see the cost, costliest part (Power plant) is still imported, once its produced in India or by India , your concern will no longer valid....

. . .

1700 T90
700 ARJUNS MK1/2/3
1000 T72 upgraded
