By the way there is few drawbacks in Arjun tank.Biggest of them being the lack of a modern FSAPDS ammo.....especially a suitable heavy long rod penetrator is missing since the ARDE MkI was developed way back in mid 80s and hasn't been upgraded ever since.
I hope ARDE will sort out this problem sooner than later.But in the long run a smooth barrel gun should be developed.

Arjun be it Superior or Inferior to Al-Khalid. The point is that we are not going to be at war with anyone in near future but we are continuously going to do R & D in this field and come up with better models and versions. India has in recent years made much of the progress with respect to technology after years (I mean many many years) of heartburn and dead ends. This in itself is a big achievement for us. Need arise we can build many tanks from ground up even when there are sanctions imposed on us for any reason.

The hit ratio of Al Khalid was above 98.9% at maximum ranges with various speeds etc...but only "drawback" was weight since Saudis were looking for a tank in heavy class...while Al Khalid was only 48 tons

But Pakistanis designed Al Khalid to be in Pakistani theater...so heavy tank doesn't work here..due to irrigated soft soil of Punjab..that is why arjunk was redesigned too..it was heavier than ia wanted...

And oh yeah, the above version was just Al Khalid. That was similar to arjunk is firepower, round carrying capacity etc...Here, we are talking about Al Khalid-1..which a whole different beast. For example, Arjunk and Al Khalid carried 39 rounds...arjunk still carries the same..while Al Khalid-1 carries like 49 rounds or something that is just one aspect...Al Khalid-1 is faster, more mobile, carries more rounds, have more range and so on...
