The solution is to drill in common goals and priorities across fields. These have to first start at the highest levels and then must be pushed down to the common man. I firmly believe in "Yatha Raja, tatha praja" way of thought.

@Koovie Agree 100% on the misplaced priorities. But we cannot wish away the inherent divisions in our society and also the top down approach of the Chinese model will not work here. My thought has always been that only if common people decide, we can bring big changes in our society. For this, there should be mass awareness to our citizens about the priority issues and what is required to resolve those. This is where I see the role of government in leading the people (not just impose).

Although if the government that we elect, concentrates on executing the law (if not 100% atleast 80%), we will see a lot of improvements.
