The point you are refusing to see here is that a small payoff in space today leads to a big payoff down the line.
As mentioned earlier they have several private space start ups that could bring in billions in the near term future ( I think one of them is headed by a young Muslim man in his early thirties). When and if these start ups begin earning money, we will be sitting here cussing our elite for lack of foresight.
Other spins offs include their own homegrown gps, especially useful during war time. Agricultural and climate prediction etc. etc. Space research is a technology multiplier.
Russia's space mission failed because of all the sanctions against them. Russia is a country on the descendant, India whether we like it or not, is on the ascendant.
India, because of the size of their population does a lot of things at a lower per capita income level than other countries, including democracy, however flawed. I don't think there is a single other country with such a low level of per capita income that holds competitive elections decade after decade. It is some magic of large numbers.
Pakistan cannot have a space program right now because we simply haven't got the will or the trained human resources at this point. If that changes in ten or twenty years, we should spend the money, especially if it is just 1 cent per member of the population like they do in India. it will be a huge money maker, technological game changer and a soft and hard power multiplier..
.all of which leads to increased standard of living for the everyday person. .... I sincerely hope that we get to that stage some day, though way things are going currently, I am not holding my breath.
Anyway, I think your mind is made up and no amount of evidence will change it...so adieu...have a nice day ...
