the Kashmir insurgency has so far been handled with kid gloves by the Indian state and armed forces, but should the Pakistanis interfere in a big way and this problem metastasizes, the kid gloves will come off and the iron fist will crush it mercilessly.
Let's hope it doesn't come to that, and I don't think it will come to that.. just have a look at the stats, what is it, 50 odd a year? join the jihad in Kashmir, half of them are killed. They can never win against the Indian state, I think both the Pakistani establishment and the young cannon fodder jihadis on the ground are aware of this fact.
At this stage it's really kind of like the annoying little low intensity insurgency the Chinese are dealing with in Xinjiang, zero global support.. literally 0 support for this "cause" in the international arena, even the 'deeper than ocean, sweeter than honey' friends have not dared to so much as make a peep about it, nothing in the UN, nothing from the US/west, and Russia ? with this imaginary growing 'strategic' partnership with Pakistan ? ..forget about it, nothing there either.
Pakistan really ought to be trying to deradicalize the huge section of it's jihadi population by offering economic incentives and a better future for them rather than trying to cause trouble for a bigger and much more powerful neighbour.
All these decades of breeding snakes in their backyard has come to bite them so badly.. and yet they refuse to learn ?
Kashmir, Palestine, Rohingya, Syria.. sab ka theka le rakha hai, apart from the Uighurs
and how's it been working out for you ?
