Firstly, Bhutto had the mandate for his 'socialism' via the 1971 elections. That was the zeitgeist of the 1960s, right or wrong. Also, it is an urban myth that his socialism 'destroyed' Pakistan. Some large industries were 'nationalized' but not most of the industry. My family has bees in textile mill business since before the Partition of 1947 and still have a prosperous textile mill in the SITE area of Karachi. We more than survived Bhutto's nationalization. If anything, I am very glad the workers were given some 'rights'! I still remember in front of our textile mill office small signs/boards appeared for something like 'Employees Age Old Benefits' in the 1970s. Workers were given rights even if it meant my family had to cough up some extra money.

Quit exaggerating Bhutto's 'socialism'!! It had some negative impact but it was not something that destroyed Pakistan. Under Ayub Khan, a guy I deeply admire like I admire Musharraf, wealth was too concentrated. You know the fabled '22 families' having bulk of the Pakistani wealth??

LeJ is a largely irrelevant and inconsequential terrorist group in the grand scheme of things, in total it can only claim a very small portion of terrorist attacks in the country.

TTP has been and is the most significant threat followed by a weaker BLA.

Using raw numbers here is useless as Punjab's population alone is greater than Sindh, Balochistan and KPK combined according to the 2017 census.

Sindh: 48 million

KPK: 36 million

Balochistan: 13 million

Punjab: 110 million.

If we take population difference into account, even 1-2 rapes committed a day in KPK means it is in a similar crisis, and 1 every 2 days in Balochistan means it is in a similar crisis.

Not to mention here that Punjab being more developed means cases actually get reported more often. In 2021 Islamabad alone registered double the rape cases of the whole of Balochistan, despite Islamabad only being a city of 1 million.

Also if we call that statistic a "crisis" with 4-5 rapes daily, then where does America sit with a woman being raped every 2 minutes according to this study?
