Security forces kill 3 terrorists in Turbat operation: ISPR​

Three terrorists were killed after security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the general area of Turbat town in Balochistan’s Kech district, the military’s media wing said in a statement on Tuesday.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the forces conducted an IBO, effectively engaging with the terrorists’ location.

The statement said that “after an intense exchange of fire, three terrorists were successfully neutralised”.

It said that weapons, ammunition and explosives were also recovered from the terrorists who were involved in multiple activities against the law enforcement agencies and the innocent civilians in the area.

“Sanitisation operations are being conducted to neutralise any other terrorists present in the area,” ISPR said, adding that the forces remain determined “to thwart attempts at sabotaging peace, stability and progress of Balochistan”.

Pakistan has witnessed an uptick in terror activities over the past year, especially in KP and Balochistan, after the proscribed Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan ended its ceasefire with the government in November 2022.

Militant violence and security operations intensified in March, with the number of militant attacks surpassing 100 for the first time since November 2014, according to a report by the Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies.

Pakistan ranked second in the Global Terrorism Index 2025, with the number of deaths in terrorist attacks rising by 45 per cent over the past year to 1,081.

At least two dead in blast near FC post in Balochistan​

Gunfire also reported between assailants and FC personnel after the blast, escalating tensions in Qila Abdullah.

At least two people were killed and several others injured in an explosion near the Frontier Corps (FC) fort in Balochistan’s Qila Abdullah district on Sunday, according to media reports. The blast occurred near Jabbar Market, adjacent to the back wall of the FC fort.

According to Deputy Commissioner Riaz Khan, the explosion caused significant damage to several vehicles and nearby shops, and is believed to have targeted the fort’s perimeter wall.

In the immediate aftermath of the explosion, an exchange of fire reportedly broke out between armed assailants and FC personnel, further escalating tensions in the area.

DC Khan confirmed that several people sustained injuries and were transported to nearby hospitals. However, due to limited medical infrastructure in Qila Abdullah, some critically wounded individuals were shifted to Quetta for advanced treatment.

Among the injured were tribal leader Haji Faizullah Khan Ghabizai, his security guard, and a passerby who were near the blast site at the time of the explosion.

Following the incident, heavy contingents of law enforcement agencies cordoned off the area and launched a comprehensive search and clearance operation to locate potential suspects and ensure public safety.

Pakistani security forces successfully foiled an attack on a military installation in Gulistan, Qila Abdullah, Balochistan, by Indian-sponsored terrorists.

A vehicle carrying the terrorists was intercepted en route to the target. Meanwhile, a VBIED detonated near a market close to the installation, injuring several civilians.

Multiple Indian-backed terrorists were neutralized on the spot.
