How are things bro? I wanted your opinion about some good but cheap laptops?
When I say cheap I mean price sensitive but good enough to run O.S like parrot,ubuntu,kali,etc.

Fine Alhamdulillah, just travelling with my better half what about you dear?
Price / performance ...Dell Inspiron and Latitude are the best while Dell precision and XPS are a bit on expensive side...But if you can afford Dell Precision, I will highly recommend it because of its modular approach and room for expansion and workstation class components, however these machines are power hogs so it empties its battery very quickly but may be the recent configurations with more efficient CPUs have a longer battery life. Dell normally provides a better customer service than other window laptop manufacturers though no match for apple's customer service after paying for the Apple Care...

HP ---> NO
Lenovo ------> NO (good for business people but not for your application), though Y-series is good but I heard a lot of complaints about it.

Asus and Acer are mostly focussed on mobility and lightweight so bad price / performance

Check best buy and Amazon for further discounts...Are you a registered student?
BTW I typed this comment on my Macbook but as you know it is neither the best option on price/performance chart nor it is good for the applications you mentioned....I use it because I prefer OSX.
