The Ottomans never ruled us. It was a Caliphate united under the banner of Islam - in this case Sunni Islam if anyone ever wondered what Islam is.

The Arab areas were ruled by local rulers loyal to the Caliph and not foreigners such as some of my ancestors (Sharifs of Makkah). At most only Mamluks in Egypt and Iraq but that only in the cities. Outside of them nobody but the Arabs had the control.

The Ottoman ruling family (House of Osman) were Turkmen nomads originally who settled in Anatolia 800 years ago. More so the Caliph was a religious authority that was simply a symbolic figure at the later stages of the Ottoman Empire. All the Arab areas were ruled by local Arab rulers loyal to the Caliph or Mamluks in the cities in the case of Iraq and Egypt. At the same time Arabs had great importance in the Ottoman court and were highly respected especially the Sadah families.

The Turks were the ones who were culturally conquered due to Islam if anything. The Ottomans left nearly no legacy apart from cuisine which was the most clear thing they left. At the other hand the Ottomans used Arabic scripture and basically copied all of the Arab Caliphates that had ruled for 900 years before the Ottomans ascended the throne.

Lastly the Ottomans only ruled small parts of the Arab world by appointing loyal local rulers.

Anyway most Turks are secular in nature and Islam is mostly a personal thing.

The Turkish leadership know their limitations and so far the relations have been mostly economical. It has mostly been Turkey who has sought better relations after their prospects of joining EU seems out of reach for now.

Erdogan might have something to do with it though.

Anyway Arab-Turkish cooperation cannot be a positive thing for the Iranian Mullah's since it will only further isolate a country that suffers from a lot of things.

Every nation has its own psychic . Persians have strong cultural values , which attracts the world. They have one of the best educational system. For example , I hardly seen any poor Iranian in US. A good number are either doctors or professors. If travel LA , its all Little Tehran. Don t accept domination from anyone. But they have cultural arrogance .
If someone really need to know the poetry and painting, then I would recommend see Iran. Or Omar Khayam., Roomi , Sherazi etc etc.....
