Low tech? Is that why KSA has one of the most advanced armies in the world and the region in terms of equipment? Israel is no threat to us so they are irrelevant in this discussion.

KSA will always be a main power in the region and Muslim world power simply for being the birthplace of Islam (Makkah and Madinah), the countries size and population which is rapidly growing, strategic location, religious, cultural and political influence, abundance of natural riches etc.

All that regardless of who will rule it.

Non has real R&D. foundation...Even Pakistani AF engineers been working on j10 project since last many years , just to make the plane, according to requirements. Non country has real time spy satellite. Defence industry is huge subject , muslim countries are not even close ....
