Pakistan may yet be a partner in the development of the missile, I guess we will have to wait to find out....unlike India whose partnership was limited to partial 'funding' of the development of Brahmos!

Yeah! Just like India may have been a partner in the development of Rafale, or even Apache Block III. After all we will have to wait to find that out just like this case

and about funding, well, do not let your jealousy cloud even your basic intellect ;)

Had that been the case, why were 100+ engines purchased? At a ratio of 2:1 (3 Operational & 1 backup) it gives us how many jets?

Ah....an older gen technology for an even older A/C Carrier......perfect :)[/QUOTE]

plaaf can at least replace their a5 with jf 17.
and the production of a5 attacker should be stopped long time ago..but they just closed the a 5 production line since last month...

and in my view it is important that plaaf to buy some jf 17. it is very important if we want to export jf 17.
I dont think so it would have any significant impact. No body would buy a plane merely based on who is operating it. Every airforce places whatsoever possible effort in evaluating the platform. With the promise offered by JFT and the depth of capabilities it offers, No wonder it can fit in most of the roles at fraction of the cost. If it has exceeded PAF's requirements, it can also match and exceed other airforce's requirements as well. Of course political influence is also another major factor but given AVIC has an active interest in promoting JFT, I see direct political support from China.

iron dome is not that good as you think.
most hamas missile are hand made missiles,
hamas are very poor. they just buy some chinese seamless steel tube, and build some poor rocket.

very low speed ,very low rang, very poor accuracy

off topic we do calculated the price of this kind of hamas rocket. it is no more than 200USD.
and a Iron dome missile ist far far expensive. even if hamas has enough this kind of poor rocket.
they can make israel bankrupt

This is what technology is , intercepting a rocket is not a easy task , no one in the world able to done that.

I don't understand. It says FC-1 can take this weapon on board. But has Pakistan purchased it ?

FC-1 aka, Fighter China-1 is the Chinese designation for JF-17. !!

Buttt tou idhar 2007 se hai aur yeh sawal kar rahaa haiii ?  :hitwall: :suicide:

FC-1 - Chinese Designation for the plane that we & China jointly developed !

JF-17 - Pakistani designation for the same plane which was further, from what I've heard, customized as per some of the unique requirements of the PAF !

Whatever is available for the FC-1 is available to us because its part of the same program with the majority of its production, from what I've heard, being carried out by PAC Kamra at a later date.

Yes, just as I explained it, because it will be the best option to provide a sea blockade of Pakistani ports, but before that there will be strikes to destroy costal air bases, defence and of course PN assests.

As far as carrier is concerned, if it is protected by the layers of naval assets in waters and air, what stops these JFs to target escorts from standoff distances.

The air defence of course, as Contrarian tried to explain, having a missile is one point, getting into launch range another, since the fighter will be detected and engaged long before that. That's why I said, the safer and more likey option is to use it against land based targets, because these can be attacked even from Pakistani air space, without the need to avoid Indian defence first. Not to mention that the missiles is not useful against big and heavy armored target as a carrier, as some Chinese members already explained.
Forget the hype about this missile for a moment an think it through please, we know that JF 17 has already integrated C-802 anti ship missiles with way longer range and even bigger warheads. Do you really expect PAF attacking a carrier group with CM-400 AKG from closer distance and with higher risks for the fighters, instead of using C-802, or even Raad from safe distance?

Reading the last few pages, I was wondering if anybody had taken in to account the fact that at MACH 5+, the kinetic energy of the missile would eat any incoming missile etc. and continue on its course?

Dear media reporters, about the weapons seized in southern Lebanon, a factory manufacturing steel pipe is used as a rocket launcher of the investigation and verification, no this matter. Batch of steel pipe exported to a country in the Middle East Gas Company as the laying of gas pipelines.

As for the group how the steel pipe is displaced to the hands of the other staff, and restructuring to become a weapon, and we did not know. But we can explain is that factory production of steel pipes, the quality is the highest in the world, but also affordable, which is why they detour to buy steel pipe causes. For commercial confidentiality, to disclose what countries, but certainly not in Lebanon.

By the way, if you intend to buy the products of the factory, during office hours call our customer service telephone 0535 -7281109 "cottage products, in order to prevent buy please those who are interested to visit our factory to visit and purchase, we The address is: 247 horse Hill Road, Yantai City, Shandong Province, Laiyang.

This Laiyang Steel Pipe Factory really innocent, because the armed Palestinian rocket propellant are also made with Israel fertilizer as raw material, the can not said that the rocket is made in Israel.

Have Updated in JF17 Information Pool thread, its sourced from Janes:

Pakistan acquires air-launched SOM capability, AIR-TO-SURFACE
Pakistan acquires air-launched SOM capability - Jane's Missiles and Rockets
Pakistan Air Force (PAF) officials have disclosed the existence of a new Chinese-developed air-to-surface Stand-Off Missile (SOM) that will equip the PAF's JF-17 Thunder multirole combat aircraft.

The weapon, designated CM-400AKG, is said to be a land-attack variant of the CASIC C-802 (YJ-82) anti-ship missile which has already been integrated on the JF-17. Jane's assesses that 'CM-400AKG' is, therefore, an export label for the CM-802AKG land-attack weapon that was first seen at the November 2010 Air Show China event.

No i know what FC-1 is. It is indeed the chineese variant of JF-17. I'm just asking whether Pakistan has bought the CM-400 missile because it says it can be taken on board by it....
