This clearly is not a popularity contest as such it won't be a failure. The powers that be just need another alternate in place. In our dysfunctional democracy, nobody cares about the popular vote because any election can be "engineered" to give popular vote to anyone deemed worthy at the time.

Hate to say this but at this time, all Pakistan needs is some stability. The utter disregard of the constitution by the current *caretaker* government should leave no one with an illusion that overnight this system will get fixed (this goes for even if IK/PTI were to attain ascendancy). I think PTI/IK need to park their gaddi for now and wait out for not the next, but the one after the next elections.

Once the pressure is lifted on PTI/IK which may take many quarters and possibly even a few years, these deserters will trickle back in given the mood of the public.

SO u r saying that stooges of establishment aka caretaker, pdm or this new istaklaal that brought this unstability will bring stability ?

It is same that a country invades u and u sit down in your house that enemy has invaded now they will bring peace.

Regarding election, only elites and power circles done care about popular vote but what about 240 million people ? Do u really think stability can come after suppressing 240 million on the wishes of few 100s?

People might be silent for the time but for how long ?

Based on the analysis that Pakistani society has become rotten to the core, my conclusion is that the ideal, fantasy solution is the following:

The army sheds the crazies among the generals and teams up with PTI under Imran Khan. Together we can fix Pakistan.

The army under the new commanders would have to agree to full-fledged reforms to make sure this stupidity never happens again. They would have to work under civilian control like armies in all properly run countries.

Imran Khan and PTI will have the support of the people. Pakistan needs 20 years of political stability and economic development to become a prosperous country. (Erdogan has been ruling Turkey for 20+ years).

We can achieve a growth rate of 10% per year. In 20 years our economy will grow 8 times what it is now. From $350 billion to $2.8 trillion. Exports of $400 billion and $500 billion in the bank.

It is very achievable. Just the leadership of the army needs to decide to go for total success instead of total failure.

Only a little sacrifice and some courage is needed. The soldiers who bring about these reforms will be remembered in books on Islamic history 500 years from now.

PS: Military budget will be $112 billion in 2043.

They did it to the MQM by creating another version of the MQM, supported even separatists Sindi parties against PPP and if that was not good enough, Jonego party of the 80's came along. Its 2023 and people can see through all the games of the begaret generals when Pakistan is not important for them and they labelled everyone terrorist to save there kingdoms.
In the rest of the world parents are concerned how good schools they can send there kids to, and these begaret generals have reduced our country to that parents don't even know if there kids are going to be in there own beds.
When these begaret generals start using there dead soldiers tombs who laid down lives for the country and start using the victim card how low this begaret tola will sink to. Shame is not the word for our thug and begaret generals they are just trained and born losers and our nation is paying the price for there ill-leggimate births. Which ever war they have fought they have lost, where ever fingers in government and economy matters they have put, life came down crashing. Still they are holding conferences from national security to the core commanders and now new term field commanders, so Pakistan is a now a field and theatre of war is it? Why can't you pathetic generals admit for a change and accept that you are just a bad omen for our nation and a worse enemy for the state of the Pakistan and get lost.
