Indians, please put your nationalism aside for a second. Please honestly answer this question: Are not most bollywood movies made these days a lot crappier than the ones even 15 years ago. Full of sexual innuendoes and the same brainless "love stories"--though shot now in western countries like US, Switzerland, etc.

Bombay may be churning out lots of movies, but in a year not even one of them is singled out for any international awards.

So many other countries do not produce movies so prolifically but win awards all the time. Just compare them to the "best" modern bollywood flick--the latter is just awful.

I was in oman when bombay was released. It was there for only one show and on the next show Baluchies kicked every one who came to watch( indians) the second show and then it was banned.

I will agree to that, most of the old movies had excellent stories and brillant actors and actresses. Bollywood has been to commercialised and its churning out what people want to see, not quality films like in the past. Ofcourse there are a few good films that come out now and then like 3 idiots e.t.c.
