Why did they chose turbojet over turbofan?
No, there is no big difference to produce them from manufacturer aspects. hard part is to manufacture jet core, once you have achieved it you can make all variants.Easier to produce.

Mr Kotil stated new plane would have a turbojet engine, may be he only implies it wouldnt not be a propelled aircraft. We do not know yet but there is a possibility to have a turbofan variant of our TS1400. 2 of them would be suitable for our supersonic wingman aircraft.
from aviation Turkey magazine
"Among the main purposes of the Turboshaft Engine Development Project (TEDP) is the establishment of a gas turbine engine design and the development of infrastructure and the knowledge to facilitate such a development process.
Thus, the core technology of the TS1400 Engine shall also form the basis for the indigenous turbofan engine
(in 8,500lbf to 9,500lbf thrust class) needed for the HURJET New Generation Advanced Jet Trainer (AJT) & the Light Attack Aircraft Development Project, and it will be possible to develop the national aircraft engine
when needed, upon any necessary technological additions to the capabilities gained under the TEDP. "
so what? it is probably for necessity of their own. size is also important. when the mass gets bigger it is hard to manufacture parts cause of centrifugal force.China produced turbojets for many decades before finally producing a turbofan engine.

i am expecting from new jet or at least it should be able to carry
-4 A2A missiles, or
-2 MK83 bombs
-Radar
-EO sensors
-stealth shape with ew suit
basically shape should be like this, i dont expect revolutionary form, may be they should add horizontal stabilizer at tail
for Göksungur My bet is on a some how similar shape with Avenger
Following Aksungur, which emerged with the ANKA program, also TAI's strategic turbofan HALE UAV project will emerge in the coming years. (in documents showing the future strategy of the organization) On the other side, Baykar Akıncı will be equipped with more powerful engines to increase capacity and capabilities. A similar situation will apply to Aksungur, and she will not fly with 220/250hp engines always.i am expecting from new jet or at least it should be able to carry

Bro, Avenger’s shape can not reach supersonic speeds. Göksungur will have a loyal wingmen supersonic drone concept to escort Turkish TF-X fighters. They are going to carry electronic warfare sensors to suspension enemy radar and air defense batteries. The drone will introduce itself like big target something similar to a fighter (F-4/16) to be an open target while activating the electronic warfare sensors to jam them. When wingmen operation completed succesfully, The drones will land on airbases. The Göksungur will have a weight around 100kg and a speed of 1600km/h.
