Bir gazetecinin, "Sürecin olumlu gitmesi halinde Altay Tankı'nın ne zaman sahada görürüz" şeklindeki bir sorusuna Ali Koç, şöyle yanıt verdi:
"Altay için yapmamız gereken yatırımlar var. Bir de hazırda olan tesislerimiz var. Biz, Altay'ın seri üretimi için gerekli bütün altyapıyı planlama ve programlamayı yaptık. Düğmeye basıldığı andan itibaren seri üretim için arkadaşlar 22 ay diyorlar ancak 18-22 ay arası bir süreye ihtiyaç duyuluyor. Az önce söylediğim gibi bizim teklifimiz kabul edilmezse yeni bir ihaleye çıkılması gerekiyor. İhale nereden baksanız teklif vermek 6 aydır. Sonra 6 ay da değerlendirmedir. Bu, işi çok ciddi anlamda uzatacaktır. Bizim düşüncemiz, başla düğmesine basıldığı andan itibaren 18-22 ay arasında Otokar olarak seri üretime geçebileceğiz."

- Serial production could be started by Otokar in 18 to 22 months, if their serial production proposal gets accepted.
- if Otokar's current serial production proposal is rejected, a new proposal will need to be made. Making a new proposal takes roughly 6 months and another 6 months is needed for evaluating the proposal, thus drawing out the whole serial production process.

I'm surprised it takes this long to prepare for serial production. Will Otokar build an entire new manufacturing plant for the Altay?

No not otocar but BMC.

I wonder is it because BMC might offer a better proposal? Let BMC and Otokar both produce Altay? Or play favoritism and give it to BMC even if Otokar's proposal isn't bad? I'm gonna wait and see before throwing mud, but the last one would be really maddening if it happens.

Why are they making so many problems to KOC- otokar ? We need those damn tanks and erdogan knows exactly that koc are the ones who can easily build those tanks. They are the most respected industrial family in turkey- dont do shit.

no faking one can build that tank, they are sponsored by ssm. Turkish firm have almost zero R&D, the 500 million dollar R&D of Altay is paid by againg ssm. Machinery and logistics will be giving by Ssm.

We are still looking for better deal for Loramids, so why not for Altay?
