Yes 80+ BVR capable fighters becoming backbone of the PAF.
I talked to my Bhabi brother he said BLOCK III is still far away they have only told China what they require by now and AESA most likely will be Chinese and hard points will be 8 so if BLOCK III is still at least a year or even more away than what will happen after we have completed production of 50 BLOCK II ? @Windjammer

Alan Warnes said the PAF will produce 12 Block-IIs in 2018. I think the PAF will just keep producing Block-IIs, be it for local use or export, until PAC needs to transition to Block-III.

I saw JF-17 aircraft number 233 in induction parade

233 certainly means Block II Bird # 33 . . . It also depends if the one you saw was the last one in the series or were there anymore with a higher number than 33.. Therefore.. lots of Block IIs inducted. Basically.

16-233 and 3 in yellow primer means (currently we can calculate as seen) going to be 16-236= 36 Block-II and total 86 manufactured. 83 are handed over to PAF till now.

Due to the tragedy in Lahore, the ceremony was kept a low level affair.

It is good to hear Pakistan is so close to achieving 100 JF-17s and is also going to export few of these. I think by 2020-2021 we will be having 150+ JF-17s with a mix of block 3,2 and 1 and rafales will be coming to india by 2022 onwards so we will be having a strong air power by then.

Whereas it should have been much more louder and exhilarating to showcase our resolve as a nation. :|
The unending resolve is always there and doesn't need to be exhibited through fanfare.
Initially it was reported that the PM would be the chief guest and the ceremony would be supplemented by air displays etc.
