Certainly, yup.Presenting the weapon at the airshow along with the AC was an indication.But the images captured in China do not get to be released that quickly so, it could be an old one getting released at a suitable time.

If you are trying to mention about the red rectangle drawn by HRK on that image, then to me it doesn't seem it's a suitable place to hang a pod there.Very much impossible due to the following reasons.
1-Proximity to the twin-barrel cannon.
2-Being very close to the drop tank that can be mounted on the aircraft's centerline hard point.

where else should it go many jets have their targeting pods there under the chin of the engine intake

We do not have to compare JF-17 with the other AC's to see where it can get a hard point for the POD.
It can be answered simply by looking at the aircraft we are talking about.
Notice the absence of Central drop tank in that image.It's not an ideal maritime configuration for a JF-17.But it serves well to test a weapon system.And i've posted the image just to show how much limitation is there for hanging a POD there.You move to the left and you may obstruct the operation of the landing gear.Move to the center and you'll be taking the space of the central fuel tank.And ahead of it lies the cannon which may limit it's operation.
Space is a limitation for the JF-17 and innovation is the key both in terms of making it capable to have different weapon & targetting systems.

well the turkish pod is coming to pakistan lets see where on the jf-17 it will go
may be @JamD can help us out.

but as for me i still maintain it will go under the left chin of the intake
 
The "JF-17" on the side ... ... shouldn't that suggest PAF? ... ... And the other users have FC-1 or even have their own designation?

FC-1 is the designation for chinese side and for local consumption . While on the other side, JF represent both Pak-Sino contribution so if FC-1 gets exported. It is most likely be called JF-17

Not that I've done any analysis but I suspect they are going to mount it on a hard point. I say this because I've seen a lot of discussion on how there aren't many good places to mount a chin mounted pod and the general jf17 philosophy of keeping things simple and cheap.

According to Air Commodore Khalid Mahmood during the 2015 Paris Air Show, the idea of a dedicated chin hardpoint for targeting pods was being studied in Kamra, but alongside the feature set of the Block-III (e.g. AESA radar). But they were also studying of possibly having those chin stations on the Block-II as well. That said, I'd weigh more on the side of seeing the ASELPOD under the wings on Block-II, but chin by Block-III.

Interesting note: Aselsan also has other pods - e.g. TacSAR and photo-reconnaissance pods - under development. Could make for an interesting suite for the JF-17 in the long-term.

looking at tejas and near all other fighters who usally mount pod under air intake on special pod hardpoint, this seem to be logical location. but why wasnt this done from black 1, there must be some issues that we are not aware of..
 
CM-400AKG


This supersonic standoff missile was first on display at the 2012 Zhuhai Airshow as part of FC-1/JF-17's "complete" weapon package. Unlike most modern ASMs flying at the low altitude, the missile flies a rare high ballistic trajectory, powered by a solid rocket motor. It appears that CM-400AKGmay have evolved from the earlier SY-400 SRBM. Therefore the effectiveness of such attack profile is still unknown. Some specifications: weight 900kg, max range 240km, max speed Mach 5.5 (at diving stage?). It has INS during the mid-course and utilizes active radar/passive radar/IIR seeker with target-recognition capabilities at the terminal stage, which may improve its accuracy. The missile is claimed to be capable of terminal maneuver of some degree to avoid interception by SAMs. CM-400AKG is speculated to have been designed to attack fixed or "slow moving", high value ground targets. Up to two CM-400AKGs can be carried by an FC-1/JF-17. A small yellow dorsal antenna was installed probably to provide the datalink between the missile and the aircraft. It has yet to seeif CM-400AGK will enter the service with PAF. The latest image (July 2016) suggested that the program is still making progresswith JF-17 seen undergoing more weapon integration tests.
