Can India become a superpower?! CAN INDIA BECOME A SUPERPOWER?!!

Both China & India are still playing catch up, trying to compare who is more superpower between the two will only be a laughing stock to the Industrailzed nations. Let's not make fools of ourselves...

You are correct but we need to remember as they say "An Idle brain is a devil's workshop"

Once people start finding jobs they would have no time for polarizing issues in the name of religion, language or caste.

Politicians would be forced to change their strategies big time to catch the attention of their electorate.

remember the incident in India where for a low level Railway job even the PHD college professors applied among the other millions of one post?? they werent all jobless but they would love to work for govt where you dont have to work and just collect pay check. In canada Govt job are like that too, east work, good pay and lots of vacation but most govt jobs go unnoticed because people like to work upto their full potential not just for the money...thats what i meant when i said our culture is not pro-development and hard work. How many time you heard people brag about their job is "Ayashi" and people wishing "yar Ajay jesy job mil jaye to maja aa jaye" and specially highlighting "uper wali amdani"

Ironically, before being given the marching orders, the programmer helped train the very same Indian workers who were supposed to take over his job. Flanagan's suicide was an extreme step. But his circumstances were by no means exceptional. He was one of some 800,000 Americans who have lost their jobs to outsourcing in the past year alone. No wonder this has prompted legislators in New Jersey to ban the export of IT-related state contracts to other countries.
the ruthless nature of the global ( and mostly useless ) it industry... the indian it industry is the worst, with no real intellectual contribution and with the workers having no rights... well, the workers too are cowards and selfish in not creating employee unions... they are voluntary slaves really... "cyber coolies" is good description of them and one i particularly like... the other older one is "code monkeys", but issme monkeys ka kya kasoor??

lol written by a commie

tabhi main kahoon, it seemed so much like my own posts. :enjoy:

and i presently my sincere condolences for a passed comrade i didn't know.

rest in piss

he did not, but ashok singhal did today. :agree:

I know. He was totally against nuclear power too.

so am i... nuclear fission power plants are a 1950's idea... there are more elegant and natural ways like solar power tower, biofuel etc.

besides, future of electricity production is mostly decentralized and home-based.

For some reason, every time I read @Joe Shearer , I recall Paful Bidwai.

joe shearer is a progressive but has said he does not like the marxist approach.

Wow,

When will I hear the same about @jamahir

why??

lol, must have been some pretty tasty free food that he choked on.

I do not like attacking the author but his opinion could be countered. Praful had taken this stand on software coolies since 2000s and has championed it for more than a decade and there are many cases where he was correct too.

Same was his opinion about de-nuclearisation which is very idealistic but not practical.

why??

I too believe nuclear power is not suitable for a country like India with huge population and low quality habits.

I understand that Joe is not Marxist but both Praful & Joe have the same writing/lecturing style.

You have implied through your comments that Indian democracy is inferior and inefficient compared to other democracies that had no problem passing a basic land-acquisition legislation many decades ago.

Furthermore, if India had nothing to learn from others, then how did English become an official language. Where did the Indian railways come from? What about democracy itself? India certainly didn't invent democracy.

Firstly, it is great to be back on PDF......

Let's stop bashing India altogether....when India received its independence everyone knew it could not even think about manufacturing anything...but now India has become world's fastest growing nation...Nothing happened over night it took India 67 years to transform itself from a third world country to a developing nation....

India is a country where evolution takes place not revolution....So let's be patient India is on right path to becoming a superpower for sure...Only India needs time....

I see so many more posts by Chinese members asking this question than indian fanboys who come up with videos on this. There must be something India is doing right if there is so much panic among Chinese members :guns:

Any country can be a superpower, I guess? :P

Just leave China out of it. Our only real foreign policy goal is to be able to protect our own sovereignty, let the rest play their superpower games if they wish.

Yeeeahhhhhhh..........:lol::lol:

I want India to regain its rightful place as Mother of Civilization and not the position of a BADASS DUDE :D

Badass dude, better than mother of civilization....:sniper:

Dunno the answer to the question asked by OP. Some say India is already disintegrated, and it is a matter of time when this will be formalized. However our experience in BD, which is flooded with legal and illegal Indians including the largest deployment of RAW/ Intel, is that they boast and breast beat claiming they are already Maha Super Power. Not only that, they believe, and teach their kids, that Akhand Bharat was not mythical but real. And that in ancient times they were the only Maha Super Power on earth, and would have remained so but for Muhammad Ghori.

Most Indians have never travelled the world and personally experienced the development in other countries. The few lucky ones who have seen the world quickly realize how backward India truly is.

Did I say this ? Show me.

Why should India have to learn anything from anyone ? Each nation has its own way of doing things.

None of the nations mentioned above are even close to the population that votes in India. The population of some these nations would just be about equal to one state of India so where is the comparison ?

Indian government is not doing things its own ways. It's doing things the British way.

Maybe if India starts to doing thing its own way, than India would start to grow. As of now, India is growing by changing the equation, which is deceptive. Once India find a successful way o grow, others will notice. As of now, it still has not found what it needs to grow.

Technically, that wasn't an inference; it was a logical conclusion based on the predicates you provided and affirmed. Moreover, you have just confirmed yet again that India did learn from others: English, railways, and democracy were all imports.

Correction, they were not imported, they were forced onto India by the British. The problem is that India , being a backward country, has not evolve as much as it should to grow its economy.

China may not want to be a superpower. But a lot more Indians desires the superpower status. Just search India superpower in Facebook.
