I think at this point, their growing industrial base, large landmass, and tech sector, they will eventually become a second tier superpower like the soviets (who had a lot of poverty compared to the west) what would Pakistans defence strategy be then? They will be treated with even greater respect world wide, have all the Gulf nations (who give us loans) in their sphere of influence and likely be given a Veto vote in the UN and hold strong sway over the IMF (who also gives us loans)
In this senario how would our generals respond? and would we become yet another proxy for a cold war between China & india like we were for the USSR and US?

we will still slap them silly and serve them tea afterwords. whereas Chinese would club them and parade them with hand s holding their ears and wont even serve them tea,.
then Indians will make a Bollywood movie celebrating victory over China and Pakistan.

You could have done better as a senior mod.

@Irfan Baloch, did you forget tea, food, water and warm beds we served your soldiers after 1971?

You have no clue how the world works if you legitimately believe that India is a potential "superpower". Having a large tech sector and growing industries means nothing if the average citizen lives a life of misery and poverty and when social unrest is commonplace such as communal riots, police brutality, intolerance, militancy, or oppression of lower castes which is an everyday affair in India. The economic growth and growing industries only benefits a select few in India, the rest of the idiot citizens are miserable and poor and only wish to leave that country as daily life is so awful there.

Poverty ? So, massively more number of personal vehicles in the West compared to the USSR automatically meant that USSR was inferior to the West ? LOL. In your precious West now, in "the world's largest economy" aka "the world's richest country" USA the socio-economically lesser citizens are having to sell blood to buy bread, medicine and the eternal element of a Capitalist system - "paying the bills" - for things as basic as drinking water :
A noble sentiment. However, the US would not have a booming blood plasma industry in the first place if it weren’t for the fact that so many people have to resort to potentially endangering their own health in order to make ends meet. Even before the coronavirus hit, low-income Americans were selling blood plasma to get by.

“Selling plasma is so common among America’s extremely poor that it can be thought of as their lifeblood,” a 2015 Atlantic article noted. The US is an outlier in this regard: you’re not allowed to sell your blood plasma in the UK or in many other developed countries. In the US, however, you can donate up to twice a week; the procedure typically takes about 90 minutes, and you will get somewhere between $30 (£23) and $50 (£38) a time. Which is more than the $7.25 (£5.50) per hour federal minimum wage. The companies bleeding you dry, of course, will be earning a whole lot more: blood plasma is a multibillion dollar business in the US. Indeed, blood products are the US’s 12th most valuable export; in 2016, they made up a greater percentage of all American exports than soya beans or computers. Industry people joke that the US, which produces 70% of all plasma worldwide, is “the Opec of plasma collections.”
In the USSR I don't think people sold blood to obtain bread.

And read this post of mine about the homelessness in Los Angeles, home of Hollywood, the richest film industry in the world meant to earn from the pockets of fools.

Secondly, what do you mean by Superpower ?

 The timeline of your article indicating a great grand reduction in socio-economic poverty in India is 2022 but the reality is that right in 2022 just until October there were 1875 farmer suicides in just one state in India, Maharashtra and these suicides happened not because the farmers were individually surrounded by three anacondas each and saw no way out but they suicided because of India's social and socio-economic systems dominated by the 3000-year-old Hindutvad :

1,800+ deaths in 8 months: Sharp rise in farm suicides in Maharashtra

1,800+ deaths in 8 months: Sharp rise in farm suicides in Maharashtra

MUMBAI: Distress among farmers in Maharashtra pushed 1,875 of them to end their lives between January and August this year, according to data compiled by the state relief and rehabilitation department. During the same period in 2021, 1,605 debt-ridden farmers had committed suicide.

This rise in suicide numbers is despite several loan waivers and other schemes for farmers announced by the erstwhile Maha Vikas Aghadi government and the recent assurance by chief minister Eknath Shinde to make Maharashtra free of farmer suicides by extending financial support to the debt-ridden.

Poor price for produce, stress and family responsibilities, government apathy, poor irrigation, a high debt burden, corruption in subsidies and crop failure owing to heavy rain are the main reasons for farmers to end their lives, according to research conducted by leading social organisations and government agencies.

Region-wise, Amravati saw the highest number of farmer suicides in both 2022 (725) and 2021 (662). The Aurangabad region came second with 661 and 532, and Nashik third with 252 and 201. Nagpur region saw 225 cases in 2022 and 199 in 2021, and Pune 12 and 11 cases. The Konkan region saw no farmer suicides in these two years.

Of the 1,875 suicides in 2022, 981 farmers were eligible for financial assistance as per government rules, 439 were not eligible and 455 were under scrutiny. Currently, the department is paying Rs 1 lakh to the next of the kin of the deceased family.

Official records showed that 188 farmers ended their lives in Yavatmal district this year. However, if farmers' leader Kishore Tiwari is to be believed the number is 226. In 2021, 2,743 farmers committed suicide, he added.

Tiwari alleged that while Shinde had assured assistance, at the grassroots level the government machinery was yet to reach farmers. "We need a targeted approach in these districts," he said. "We found that no critical measures were taken in suicide-prone districts," he added.
