What's new

Will not order more , but OK with Export : IAF on Tejas Mk-1

very soon that locally made engine is coming, very soon, very very soon.. ;)
you take WankAlong too seriously. he is here to distribute imaginary defence toffees to pakistanis like the proverbial carrot off a two feet pole in front of the donkey.
Wanker haha a few will get what this actually means.

loool Our tech is still more advanced than that of China(for now), no argument on that man.:bounce:

It's 21st century not 20th, the sooner you realise the better it will be for you.

Slightly better than JF-17. IAF will have LCA-MK1 in few numbers, CHina will have none of JF-17. Pakistan bought them though

We know the capability of JF-17 that's why we induct this machine and building more for future....

You know the capability of Tejas that's why you reject it and trying to export....

By the way it doesn't matter whether China induct it or not, because we are building it at home and using it....

wow what a confidence builder........no we dont want any but yeah go and export....

Where did they said that don't want any? The only stated they don't want more above the 40 x MK1s they have on order, while aiming on MK2 with another 60 on order too. Around 180 x LCAs are on order by IAF and IN today, that should generate enough confidence don't you think?

Please someone tell me why is tejas a scrap project....?....:what:....It's specifications are great ( HAL Tejas - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia )..So why IAF don't want more than 40...?...........:meeting:

Don't take it negative but this will help you to understand the decision of your govt....;)

April 30, 2013: Despite enormous political pressure in India to get the locally made LCA (Light Combat Aircraft or "Tejas") jet fighter into production, the government has quietly delayed that for at least two more years. Production was supposed to begin at the end of 2012, but the number of technical problems with the LCA was too great to clear up in time for production to start then. Many essential electronic items are not functioning properly or reliably. The prototypes that are flying are maintenance nightmares, and after each test flight it takes several days to get the aircraft in shape to fly again. The managers of this government financed project tried to keep the problems quiet while they were quickly and quietly fixed but failed at both these tasks.

Thanks for this knowledge Sir...:-)
On Topic : I mean if you compare its avionics, than it is really a good plane. Technical difficulties will be solved within time before final production but many here are saying that it's avionics are also not good. So why...?

MK-1 is not a bad configuration, but its not good enough for us.

MK1 is not bad, but it doesn't fulfill the development goals, based on the ASR IAF gave DRDO. So it's not about being the best, but about providing what was promised.

Avionic systems include communications, navigation, the display and management of multiple systems, and the hundreds of systems that are fitted to aircraft to perform individual functions. These can be as simple as a search light for a police helicopter or as complicated as the tactical system for an air borne early warning platform.

And this articles clearly state that (Many essential electronic items are not functioning properly or reliable. The prototypes that are flying are maintenance nightmares, and after each test flight it takes several days to get the aircraft in shape to fly again)

so IAF rejected, hornets, MIG35 and Gripen but went ahead with Tejas, is that an attempt to give a "certificate of quality" to Tejas, or highlight "Incompetence of IAF"?

and why you think Cheap Chinese fighter is better off ? IAF rejected F/A-18 ,Mig 35 and Gripen because of performance, give them chinese fighter to evaluate and am sure they not even bother to fly it.
IAF stringent criteria doesn't apply to everyone and if MK1 which cost around 26Million $ with reliable engine and avionics clears FOC standard then its better than any chinese aircraft in market at same price tag.

BTW welcome He-Man

So wrong, Pakistan, a 50/50 partner is inducting the Thunders in its active duty squadrons, has maintained that it is going to induct a minimum of 150 (9 squadrons) which may go up as high as 250 (16 squadrons). If you are referring to China, it has not yet confirmed whether it will or will not, even if did not, do not forget it was never intended to be inducted in Chinese AF because of the specific role it was designed for, as the same role is fulfilled by J10's which is a bigger platform and suits their requirement/doctrines.

Same case with china's FC1 aka jf17
