IAF is not an industry booster organisation. It wants a mature platform . Its primary objective is to acquire mechanisms which guards the country best. Its not here to look after what is invested in what industry.

Additionally, IAF is not saying they will not buy more LCA, they are saying they will not buy more LCA Mark 1. They want Mark 2 which they will order. They are right about it, why add on MK1 in large numbers when you can wait for few years and get MK2.
