Turks taste Pakistani mangoes​

ANKARA, 7 July 2013: A large number number of Turks had a firsthand experience of the taste, juiciness and aroma of the famous Pakistani mango varieties as they converged at Pakisan House in Ankara on Saturday evening to feast on a wide spread of mango delights made out of freshly-arrived mangoes from Pakistan.

Organized by the Embassy of Pakistan in Ankara as part of Pakistan Cultural Year activities in Turkey, the mango festival featured a display of popular varieties of Pakistani mangoes such as Sindhri, Chaunsa, Anwar Retaul and Dasehri.

Pakistan Mango Festival included a wide spread of mango delicacies, including mango ice cream, mango soufflé, mango mousse, mango trifle, mango tart, mango pudding, mango salad, mango milkshake, mango lassi, and mango cake.

Guests included key political figures, representatives of the food and beverage industry, food importers, diplomats and media representatives. Briefing the guests about the ‘King of Fruits’ a popular name for Pakistani mangoes, Ambassador Haroon Shaukat said the main purpose of this event was to introduce this special fruit from Pakistan to the people of Turkey. We are hoping to export mangoes to Turkey from next year after signing a Preferential Trade Agreement with Turkey, he added.

“Pakistan is the fifth largest producer of mangoes in the world and produces world’s finest quality of mangoes. By arranging such promotional events, we wish to start exporting to Turkey this unique produce of Pakistan,” Ambassador Haroon said.
Pakistan exports the fruit to 40 countries including the United States, Canada, many EU member countries, Middle East, and Far East while new markets for Pakistani mangoes are Japan, Korea, and Australia.

Dude, have you ever tasted Pakistani Mangoes ?

I've tasted others - Nothing comes close to the Pakistani Ones - Heavenly !

tis the season though....ever since i returned to Pak, i take 2-3 shamelessly. Sometimes if i am too lazy to cut slices, I like cutting the top and eating it with spoon

Oh those mango cakes look lovely. I don't think Turkish people know much or eat Alot of mango Tbh. For me though nothing can beat the small sour plums.

I have never tasted a Mango. I tasted mango flavored ice-tea and didn't like it.

I curious by the way, if i see a pakistani mango, i'm going to try.

Another issue is we produce various fruits. Strawberry, apricot, peach, cherry, berry, banana, fig, grape, etc... And they are cheap, mangos have to be cheap.
