The transition from Pakistani first to Muhajir started during the reign of FM Ayub Khan further emboldened during Gen Zia-ul-Haq rule, the reasons are complicated and historical but mainly a result of massacres and killings by other ethnicity or the state forces, something which has carried the support for MQM despite all their faults.

Because Saulat decided to make his statement now. There was nothing else to investigate before, his murder had been proven and he was on death row for it.
