The Submarine Race in the Malaccan Strait

10islandnew.jpg

India can completely choke the shipping traffic through Malacca straights, which accounts to almost 40% of worlds shipping. The Andaman and Nicobar island chain literally acts as a gate for the Malacca straights to enter Bay of Bengal. These islands are like unsinkable aircraft carriers sitting at the mouth of the Malcca straights.
If China feels it can control the shipping traffic between Pacific ocean and Indian ocean by controlling the South-China sea area, they are in for a big surprise. 80% of China's oil imports flows through the Malacca straights.

The day the IN intrudes and imposes a threat to the shipping lanes in the Malacca Strait will be the day the USN will wipe out the Indian Navy's Eastern and Western Fleet. USN will also strategically occupy the Andaman and Nicobar Islands as well.

Just like operation preying mantis when Iranian started sinking all freighters from states supporting Iraq, resulting in the USN sinking the Iranian Navy.

But our loud mouth indian poster such as Austerlitz will tell you otherwise. Stubborn kid:laughcry:

Indeed this is a very good reason to start a thread.

just let alone Malaysia and Singapore,Indonesia will not feel comfortable and will consider as threat because that development is so close to its main land, Indonesian Navy will start to claim that water area.

forgot to mention Myanmar and Thailand (both are China's allies and There is a Naval Base Support for China in Myanmar)

The only desperate kid here is you making up fantasy scenarios to suit your twisted world view. The US dont give a darn how two third world countries fight each other... as long as you dont disrupt the commercial traffic. If you do, your navy will be fishfood before you get out of your dorm.

India is useful to our strategic interests when she operates and abides by our geopolitical plans. US strategic interests is intertwined with oil shipments and goods. Any threats on US shipments will be addressed by Fleet Command severely.

The 5th Fleet, alone, which is insiginifcant in fire power compared to the 7th Fleet, can crush the IN'S Western and Eastern Fleet combined.

The INS Viraat and associated support ships would be an unfortunate casualty of this naval conflict. In fact, India's major naval bases would be struck as a preemptive prerogative. The 7th and 5th Fleets would eradicate their entire naval and naval air arm.

Ha ha look at ur desperation china of all people relying on USA ,on the contrary USA would just love to play us against china and would waste no oppurtunity to teach chinese a lesson.
This is not to say we will do this for fun,but if china invades us it should prepare for total halt of its oil imports .

Our problem would be with china, that too if china invades us.Then we have legitimate right to defend oursleves by any means possible. We have no problem with indonesia, malaysia or singapore.Infact we have great relations with singapore and singapore even have bases in our country for exercises.

China invades India? For what? Curry?

To annex the territory it claims, and we retain our right to retaliate.By any means. That means sinking all chinese shipping..not all shipping.Just blockade any chinese merchant marine from operating.
Some countries may not like it,and there might be economic disruption..but blame chinese imperialism in the first place.
As fror USAHAWK,so USA will join war on chinese side?Very good policy decision...i'm sure concerning china's ambitions and attitude.

Who dares summon me from my long slumber. Is it you mortal!

& Yes I already know about the Kra canal just merely pointing to an article about the increasing arms or "Subs" race in the malacca strait. It doesn't matter much to my country though we do not rely heavily on the Malacca strait.

That's true, there are 2 other shipping pathways in Indonesia aside from the Malacca Straits; Lombok, Sunda.

The United States Navy joins no one's side, we enact policy for the purpose of maintaining freedom of navigation. International Trade is dependent on an open navigational doctrine. It does not matter if that navy be the PLAAN, the IN or even the RN, if they threaten the freedom of navigation, the USN will take appropriate measures.

Now, strategically speaking, the United States would not want to sink the IN as we do see them as a partner in the region. However, if the IN were to take unilateral measures to threaten the Malaccas Strait, the USN will intervene immediately.

If India would not cease and desist, then the USN would be forced to sink the IN's entire Eastern Fleet and the Western Fleet.

How are the Indians going to stop Chinese from trafficing the Malacca strait? Block it with feeces, before PLAN arrives to sink their floating 3rd rate SHUPA QUALITY import trashcan navy and hope its not all swamped away too soon?

In war chinese shipping will not be allowed to pass through/near our waters, whether usa likes or not.We do not threaten anybody else.As sovereign nation we retain our right to self defense from chinese aggression, and will conduct our national policy acc to our needs..not subject to usa will.
