Tejas for UAE ?

IF, UAE goes for any lightweight aircraft, it would be looking for local manufacturing/ToT. It makes sense given their financial prowess. The only reason they might go for Tejas is to get their hands on Israeli technology that has been 'washed' and relabelled as Indian. If things go in this direction, we may see Israeli air defence and air to air missiles in UAE inventory in the future.

Other that that, I don't see why a financial giant such as UAE would be interested in Tejas. The argument about avoiding American components is flawed because Kaveri is nowhere near completion, French help notwithstanding.

Its too early to assume that Indian export Tejas that early, first IAF want Tejas in numbers than they think Tejas for export

They have a woeking relationship with israel. Recently there were reports that emirati pilots were given access to israeli f35s.

FYI, L&T makes the wings, Dynamatic Technologies makes the front fuselage, VEM Technologies makes the center fuselage, Alpha makes the rear fuselage and all these are private Indian firms. More components are expected to be outsourced to private Indian defense firms.

Indian Components:
  1. Airframe and composites
  2. Landing gear
  3. Electronic warfare suite
  4. Displays
  5. Flight control system (Fly by wire system)
  6. crash resistant self sealing fuel tanks.
  7. valves, wires and plumbing.
Jointly Developed:
  1. Radar : This is in joint development with Elta but a custom Radar for LCA as per Indian requirements
  2. Targeting pods
  3. LRUs : These are the brains of the aircraft and are quasi Indian. They use imported silicon Chips. However the actual circuit board, system design, standards for interface and the software are 100% Indian.
  4. Missiles: Some are licence produced and others are fully Indian. Its a mix.
Fully imported:
  1. Radar covering cone i.e the front cone section of the aircraft which is a quartz based structure imported from UK.
  2. Engine from USA
  3. Ejection seats
  4. silicon semiconductor ICs
But recently, Uttam Radar has been integrated and tested on the LCA so you can count that in as well

Just because you did a green paint job on the JF with some cheap chinese paint and claimed it indigenous doesn't imply every country goes that way

Crash reaistant self sealing fuel tanks....i think you fitted these to your mig 21s as well.
Yes we used green paint thats all. Anything else.

We imported green paint from India, and awarded the contract to an Indian private firm to do the paint job.

You completely misunderstood what I was saying. I am looking at Tejas from the UAE point of view. Why would UAE be interested in it? Are Indian technologies so mature and so cutting edge that a financial giant like UAE would leave the entire world's offerings and choose Indian technology? No! Which is why I feel that if they go for Tejas, it would be the potential of relabelled Israeli tech. Otherwise, they have much better options available.

And if you want to bring JF into the discussion, look up the term systems integrator. The Thunder is a Pakistani conceptualization, tailored to meet the needs of PAF, and fields both Chinese and Western subsystems, as well as some locally produced systems. But I advise we keep the discussion limited to the possibility of UAE's procurement of Tejas.

First tejas has to get flying certificate to get flying properly than it has israeli equipment which UAE will never buy if they have to buy israeli prone tech they will go for gripen almost same the price and with a better flying fighting record and can carry any missile in UAE inventory

With brahmos integrated with Tejas, it will become deadly fighter, tejas will have a customised version of ELTA 2052 AESA radar , plus Brahmos is part of the customisation.
One Brahmos can be carried by Tejas still be left with 1000kg payload capacity available for Air to Air weapons. It is possible UAE buy few of those, because mix of Israel, French, India, Russia technology it adds excellent punch for light class fighter and UAE would like to buy with TOT.
