What's new

Raising new SSG Para from Pakistan Para Military Forces.

They'll support whosoever is providing civil services and facilities. That's not militants.
Nor is that the government. At least the militants have a dream to sell to a people who usually have experienced little more than neglect and disappointment in the existing arrangement.

The only solution are empowered local governments elected by, and which rule over small, atomic constituencies in whose local economies the members of government are obliged to participate exclusive of all other economies. That is, they earn their living from the economies of their constituencies and spend it within them. As a result of the shared interests of the government and local community thus developed, and also as a consequence of the power devolved from the central government to these local governments, the local government and the community members would have the power and incentive to work for the development of their community.

I know they have their units. But all those units are similar to Light Commando Battaltion of Pakistan Army. Not one of them matches, or have same training as SSG, or SSGN, or SSW. I am suggesting to raise a new SSG from within our Para Military Forces. Call them what ever you want. Just raise a new Special Forces unit like SSG. @The Eagle
They are more than enough trained for tasks in hand.LCB's are no joke,in conflict zones, though they don't carry M-4 and wear woodland but have always got the job done.
We need a central command, not a new SoF.

As being defence enthusiast. I think on various matters. One thing which I have recently thought about is that we have really good Para Military Forces. Most likely Punjab Rangers, and Sindh Rangers, and FC KPK, and Baluchistan, and few others combined are around 350000, if not more. But I think they are not being used with their full potential. Not only they lack good medium tanks and IFV and helicopters. They also have only LCB units. These Para Military guys are really fit. Should we not try to establish and raise a new unit of SSG may be called SSG Para or any other name can be chosen which is trained like SSG or SSGN or SSW of Pakistani Armed Forces. We can easily raise 4000 to 6000 of these soldiers in a decade or two.

Especially when the border is getting sealed and the Afghan War is soon coming to an end. Investing more in counterterrorism forces doesn't really have a point anymore as that era is past. Pakistan needs to now work on its conventional military setup rather than the paramilitaries who don't have much of a function now other than guarding borders.
And yes I do know that terrorism isn't over yet but it soon is going to be unless those street poopers strike again.

Inside Pakistan for internal operations as well as on Indian and Afghanistan border
SSG will be sent everywhere.
All the other policing formations raised close to SSG standards are providing escorts to VIPs.
