I will refrain from posting the most obvious like India Pakistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Afghanistan, Africa etc etc and request from members to refrain from doing so.

68 years after the end of World War 2, democracy at large stands as a total failure to resolve any humanitarian crisis but has made a select few richer and fatter at the expenses of million others.

China on other hand, often dubbed as the " red evil communist" by self appointed western moral guardians has the largest share in world net poverty reduction in the homeland as well as Asia and Africa.

Sadly the U.S. tends to ignore the poverty under it's own nose in favor of that which is seen abroad.

democracy, communists or dictatorship it does not matter, u can't say one is better than other. the thing that matters is implementation.

what a stupid thread. get a life and discuss issues that really matter. all poverty and human rights threads are started by pakistanis. reason-they wanna hide their own disasters. countries like india and iran have been one the most efficient in reducing poverty after china. dont know u ugys get tired of discussing same thing again again and then again

Yea rite:

According to WFP, India accounts around 50% of the world’s hungry. (more than in the whole of Africa) and its fiscal deficit is one of the highest in the world. India’s Global Hunger Index (GHI) score is 23.7, a rank of 66th out of 88 countries. India’s rating is slightly above Bangladesh but below all other South Asian nations and India is listed under “ALARMING” category. Ref: IFPRI Country Report on India

Around six out of 10 Indians live in the countryside, where abject poverty is widespread. 34.7 % of the Indian population lives with an income below $ 1 a day and 79.9 % below $ 2 a day. According to the India’s planning commission report 26.1 % of the population live below the poverty line. [World Bank’s poverty line of $1 a day, but the Indian poverty line of Rs 360 a month, or 30 cents a day].

Why could you not read the sentiment in which the thread was opened instead of launching into a rant? Before throwing stones - remember you live in a glass house.

I'd blame Wall St. rather than international policies. But now anti-occupist bill has been legislated. People are meat waiting for being chopped...

I think poverty is common at the moment to almost all nations - sometimes we forget and take for granted what we have - lets pray that its eradicated everywhere and no child has to ever sleep with hunger inside them. Doesnt matter what nation - the thought hurts me

Exactly. Democracy is great for the "developed" world, but how has democracy been implemented in the "developing" world?

Here are some democracies in the developing world: Nigeria, Sudan, Columbia, Democratic Republic of the Congo, etc.

Doesn't it seem sad, that the best performing economy in the developing world, is a non-democratic country like China?

That shows that "implementation" is more important than the label. And sadly, many countries like those listed above, simply see democracy as some sort of "silver bullet" that will solve all their problems. They ignore all the hard decisions that the developed economies had to go through in their past.

Personally I like the Nationalist Socialist approach in KSA where the government owns all the major companies and employees there are considered government employees.

poverty is a reality faced by all nations on earth even a supposedly rich country like KSA (KSA is not as rich as people make it seem). Capitalism in a way supports poverty and in time as we see in the US is starting to look like a class system where rich people get good education and good college education and in the end good paying jobs while poor people are in an empty circle and the odd ones who make it out are considered national heroes and whole TV shows are written about them how they went from Poor to Rich.

Communism also has faults as it doesn't reward the hard working and smarter individuals over their lesser hard working counter parts and may create an atmosphere of despair.

So in the end which system is the best system to run the state?? Socialism? Capitalism? Communism?? Or do we need to create a new system because all of the above have failed or are failing or least to say unfair??

Western democracy sold the capital of capitalism to the capital of communism. The body of Stalin in Lenin is turning in their graves.

China doesn't even allow foreign reporters to visit their countryside. NUFF SAID !!

^^^^^^^^^^^

we should give credit where it is due, china really has done a great job in reducing poverty on large scale.

The best solution is a "mixed system".

Pure Adam Smith-style Capitalism, or pure Karl Marx-style Communism, these are not the paths of the future.

There is a "middle path" between these two extremes.

You do have a point, but here is the thing. You cannot vote out the Communist Party in China because there is no other party to vote for. Yes China has been growing and developing, but lets say tomorrow your leaders become corrupt and your economy slows down (like India today), what will you do? If the Indian people think that something is wrong with their Govt, they can elect a new one every 5 years. If something is fundamentally wrong with the CCP, what will you do?

The answer has already played out several times in recent history. The answer is called bloody revolution.

Chinese people have had more revolutions in the past century than most other countries. The current state was in fact brought to power by a People's revolution.

When you vote your politicians out of power in India, do they stop robbing the country? Congress has been robbing India blind in recent years, without any reprecussions at all. Congress politicians have not even been held to account for the 1984 massacres yet, they are still living lives of luxury.

I am not saying authoritarianism is better than democracy, I don't believe that anyway. What I believe in, is the actual results.

The Chinese government cannot afford to fail, because it is their own heads on the line. That is great motivation for them to succeed.
