DG ISPR PRESS RELEASE.

Closing ceremony of Pakistan - Russia Joint Exercise Druzhba-VII in Counter Terrorism domain was conducted between the Armies of Pakistan and Russia at National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC), Pabbi, today.
Two weeks long exercise was commenced on 13 October 2024. Special Forces of Pakistan Army and 54 x all ranks from Russian Army participated in the Exercise.
Inspector General Training & Evaluation (IGT&E), Lieutenant General Fayyaz Hussain Shah, HI (M) graced the Closing Ceremony as Chief Guest. Russian Ambassador, His Excellency Albert P. Khorev also witnessed the Ceremony.
The troops displayed highest standards of professionalism during the conduct. The Exercise was aimed at refining drills, procedures and techniques, besides harnessing the historic military to military relations among the friendly countries.

On 25 October 2024, Khwarij attacked a Mosque in District Lakki Marwat during Maghrib Prayers.

Gentleman Cadet Arif Ullah (under training at Pakistan Military Academy, Kakul & on leave at his hometown), was also present there, offering prayers in the same Mosque.

As soon as Khwarij started firing, he immediately responded and fought the khwarij bravely. However, during the incident, Gentleman Cadet Arif Ullah (Age 19 years; resident of Lakki Marwat) embarced Shahadat sacrificing his life, while saving many innocent lives of worshippers.

Such heinous and cowardly act of attacking worshippers in the mosque while praying reflects the true ideology of these Khwarij.

Valiant act of a young Gentleman Cadet is a testament of spirit of sacrifice and dedication of Security Forces’ personnel to eliminate the menace of terrorism from the country and such sacrifices further strengthen our resolve.

Closing ceremony of Pakistan - South Africa Joint Exercise Iqbal-I in Counter Terrorism domain was conducted between the Armies of Pakistan and Republic of South Africa at Cherat, Pakistan.
Two weeks long exercise commenced on 15 October 2024. 2 x Combat Teams from Special Services Group, Pakistan Army and Republic of South Africa Special Forces participated in the Exercise.
Commandant Special Operation School, attended the closing ceremony as Chief Guest. Colonel SS Lechoenyo, Chief of Staff Republic of South Africa Special Forces also witnessed the Closing Ceremony.
The troop displayed highest standards of professional excellence during the conduct.
The Exercise was aimed at refining the drills, procedures and techniques involved in CT operations through joint training, besides harnessing the historic military to military relations among the friendly countries.

 
On 26/ 27 October 2024, four Khwarij were killed by the security forces in two separate operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province.
An intelligence based operation was conducted in North Waziristan District and after intense exchange of fire, two khwarij including Kharji Insaf Ullah were sent to hell.
In another encounter in Khyber District, own troops effectively engaged the khwarij location and resultantly two khwarij were killed, while three got injured.
Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from killed khwarij, who remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities against the law enforcement agencies as well as the innocent civilians.
Sanitization of the area is being carried out to eliminate any other kharji found in the area as security forces of Pakistan are determined to wipe out the menace of terrorism from the country.
 
The Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, Services Chiefs, and Armed Forces of Pakistan pay heartfelt tribute to Naik Saif Ali Janjua Shaheed, Nishan-e-Haider, on his 76th martyrdom anniversary.
Naik Saif Ali Janjua Shaheed displayed unwavering valour in defending Pir Kaleva Ridge against relentless Indian assaults in 1948. His selfless heroism serves as an enduring inspiration to those safeguarding the nation's sovereignty.
Today's commemoration honours the extraordinary sacrifices of Pakistan's Armed Forces, exemplifying their unyielding dedication to defending the motherland. We solemnly remember these gallant heroes who laid down their lives for the nation.
The nation remains eternally proud of its brave sons.

A high level delegation led by Colonel General Aleksandr V. Fomin, Deputy Defence Minister of the Russian Federation, called on Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force at Air Headquarters, Islamabad. The meeting remained focused on bolstering military cooperation and industrial collaboration between the two sides while exploring new avenues to fortify existing ties through joint military exercises and technical support for PAF equipment.
Air Chief emphasised on strengthening military ties with Russia, focusing on collaborative training programs, joint military drills and industrial collaboration.
Colonel General Aleksandr V. Fomin commended the recent impressive advancements in Pakistan Air Force under the current leadership. The Russian Deputy Defence Minister reiterated his resolve to play his role in further consolidating the existing collaborative defence partnership with Pakistan through military to military cooperation and technical support for PAF equipment.


 
His Excellency Colonel General Alexander V. Fomin, Deputy Minister of Defence of the Russian Federation, met General Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), Chief of Army Staff (COAS) at the General Headquarters (GHQ) today.
The meeting addressed the regional security environment and matters of mutual interest, including the enhancement of bilateral defense and security cooperation.
COAS reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening traditional defense ties with Russia, while both sides affirmed their dedication to bolstering collaboration in various security and defense domains.
Colonel General Fomin commended the Pakistan Army’s achievements in combating terrorism and highlighted the importance of a unified, cooperative approach among the global community to counter extremism.

General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Chairman JCSC on an official visit to Republic of Azerbaijan called on President of Azerbaijan His Excellency Ilham Aliyev, Minister of Defence Colonel General Hasanov Zakir Asgar, Foreign Minister Mr Jeyhun Aziz Oghlu Bayramov, 1st Deputy Defence Minister and Chief of General Staff Colonel General Karim Tofig Oghlu Valiyev and Minister of Defence Industry Mr Vugar Mustafayev.
During the interaction, both sides appreciated deep and historic relations between the two countries and discussed matters of mutual interest including evolving security dynamics of the region and enhancement of existing defence ties in multiple domains. Chairman JCSC highlighted the importance of enhanced military cooperation between Pakistan and Azerbaijan, and reaffirmed collective commitment towards peace and stability.
Azerbaijani leadership appreciated the professionalism and sacrifices of Pakistan Armed Forces and acknowledged the commonality of views to expand existing cooperation by exploring multiple avenues to forge deeper ties with Pakistan.

On night 29/30 October 2024, security forces conducted an intelligence based operation in general area Sambaza, Zhob District, on reported presence of Khwarij.
During conduct of the operation, intense fire exchange took place between own troops and Khwarij, as a result of which, one Kharji was sent to hell, while one Kharji was apprehended in injured condition. Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from them.
Sanitization operation is being conducted to neutralize any other Kharji present in the area.
Security forces of Pakistan, in step with the nation, remain determined to thwart attempts at sabotaging peace, stability and progress of Balochistan.

However, during intense exchange of fire, Major Atif Khalil (age: 31 years, resident of District Sudhanuti, AJ&K), a brave officer, who was leading his troops from front, fought gallantly and embraced Shahadat along with his two men. The two soldiers who paid the ultimate sacrifice include Naik Azad Ullah (age: 36 years, resident of District Karak) and Lance Naik Ghazanfar Abbas (age: 35 years, resident of District Layyah).
Sanitization operation is being carried out to eliminate any other Kharji found in the area, as security forces of Pakistan are determined to wipe-out the menace of terrorism and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve.

How does that even happen. I understand that he was leading in combat, but such a high rank shouldn't be doing such a thing
